Local neighborhood ramen house by day, bar by night. There’s always a little added bonus at lunchtime(11:00 am — 3:00 pm) — either a bowl of rice of extra vegetable topping on your noodles. The vegetables(cabbage, bean sprouts, other) are grown in the area which helps give the place a more local identity. All menu items are sold through a ticket machine at the entrance. Buy your preferred entrée, and side dishes and/or extra toppings, then hand the tickets across the counter to the kitchen staff. On the tables are raw garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, «ponzu»(soy sauce flavored with a critic orange-like juice), rayu(chili oil), and vinegar add seasoning to your preferred taste. The noodles are made with care and soup broths quite tasty and not overbearing with garlic or pork fat. Give it a try — I recommend the soupless«abura soba,» hot noodles in a richly flavored oil and seasonings sauce. Their gyoza and chahan(fried rice) are also excellent!
