An American grill restaurant within Ritz Carlton Hotel at Tokyo Midtown. Price: Chef’s tasting course 12,000 Yen + drinks + service fee. Reservation: Suggested, but getting a seat here is not difficult. Décor: As you would expect from a hotel restaurant, the place is very spacious and the best part is their spectacular view of the city. Service: Wonderful. Smoking: Non-smoking for ALL seats at ALL times. Food: Really tasty. You might find American grill to be a boring food category, but this place is no Outback Steakhouse. They actually try to make each dish interesting. Wine: If you are a wine lover like myself, stay tuned to restaurant website where they make announcements about special winery dinners. Some of the world’s best wine makers holds really nice dinner events here. The price for these events are very reasonable, when you consider the quality of vintage wines you get to taste. I attended multiple wine events here, including Caymus from Napa. Their wine flight included 2003 Special Selection Cab, which was awesome. Verdict: Tower Grill is one of the more under-rated restaurant in Tokyo. Similar hotel restaurants like New York Grill at Park Hyatt Shinjyuku( ) or Oak Door at Grand Hyatt( ) gets more buzz, while Towers Grill maintains a very low profile. You get great view, service, wine, and food at a reasonable luxury price. What else do you ask for? DEALS: If you know how to navigate through various Japanese language coupon sites, you will certainly run into great deals for this place. You can easily enjoy a full course meal with drinks for less than 10,000 Yen per person using these deals.
