«Shunjukusei» is currently my best place for having«aging» beef. What they do is to very carefully mature their beef in a storage to bring out all the taste inside the meat by letting it «age» at the meticulously adjusted storage in their specific method, which I don’t know in detail about. All that food science aside, their meats are outstanding. Their speciality is beef but serve pork, lamb and fish as well. They carefully choose their vegetable suppliers too and they have very fresh, tasty vegetable dishes as well. If you are much of a meat person, you will definitely be impressed how flavorful their meats can be. It was shockingly good when I had their beef and these meat dishes are at very reasonable prices. It’s a lively place if you come with a group of people and have a table on the second floor. If you bring someone in on a date, you’d better ask them to book a counter seat on the first floor, which gives a more private feel to it, and then you can have a nice, cozy dinner rather quietly. Again, the best aging beef place in the Roppongi area for me so far. Get a feeling that I will use this place often going forward.
