I ordered off of the menu, the lunch menu set which included butter chicken. It was the worst butter chicken that I have ever tasted. It was as though the chef dumped a cup of sugar into the sauce. The naan was ok but there wasn’t much cheese in it. But the service was acceptable. They allow smoking in the restaurant unfortunately– there is nothing worse than taking a bite of your food only to taste the cigarette smoke of the person sitting next to you. The waiter did sit me at another table upon request though.

oh, the joy of japan’s fast food ticket joints! the way it works is: there is a little machine with pictures of each dish, so if you cant read(like me, ahem) then it is especially useful. you put your coins in the machine, press the button for the meal you want, and VIOALA! dinner. so SAMRAT… fast food indian… not bad! not GOOD, mind you, but not bad. show up hungry and your belly will be satisfied. just dont expect any kind of exotic culinary magic here — its still fast food, after all.

I’ve been highly relying on this place after night out. Japanese people(including myself) usually eat ramen after drinking, but because this place is located near my apartment and no ramen joints open as late as this place, I reluctantly started eating curry as substitute. Like cheap udon/soba place, you purchase a meal ticket from the machine. And instead of being asked«Would you like udon or soba?» as you hand out the ticket, you’ll be asked«Would you like rice or naan?» which I find pretty amusing. First I kept choosing rice over naan, but later I realized that naan is far better as you can clean out the plate spotless with it. And naan is enormous! Price is moderate. I usually order mutton(lamb) curry for 850 yen. If you live in this area, come home late at night and have late night craving, stop by this place. You’d definitely like it.
