This may be one of the best bowls of ramen I’ve ever had. The weather was cold(~35 degrees F), but the queue was always about 20 people long. The are no tables and all of the seats are at the ‘bar’. They basically serve one type of ramen and one tsukemen. The ONLY variation seemed to be more pork belly. I didn’t see any options for more scallions, menma, or anything else. The three chefs behind the counter said very little, just occasionally announcing the arrival of new customers or orders. The only beverage available was the free water — no beer or soda. The patrons said NOTHING. I felt like I was in the movie, Tampopo(where Goro takes Tampopo to the highly efficient ramen shop). Once seated with my bowl, I understood the silence and dedication of the customers. The broth, while clear, was extremely flavorful. A soy based broth with hints of chicken and pork. The star, however, were the noodles. Firm and buttery. The best I’ve ever had. The quantity left me more than satisfied and I will certainly be returning the next time I’m in Shinjuku. Now I understand why no one was speaking. The wait is worth it.

Very delicious .My friends and I found this place when wandering down a small street in Shinbashi. Glad we chose this shop. The taste was incredible, not too heavy and flavour very traditional shoyu .The portions were huge served with a big slab of juicy pork.(next time I will order the smaller size) — will definitely go back there again and tell friends about the place. Great value for money — cheap and very, very good.
