I like Paul for eating alone or grabbing a sandwich to go. Simple tasty meals and good coffee.

This is the premier French bakery in the neighborhood and their breads, croissants, and pastries beat out those from any bakery this side of MInato ku. I always buy for the week and have never been disappointed. But then again for some reason the week lasts longer than the supply of yummy breads and croissants. I’ve eaten lunch here and they have a great menu and reasonable prices. They also have a nice drink and pastry set which is good for an afternoon coffee and tart. I sometimes buy pastries and croissants for my office staff. The bakery and restaurant are just at the footsteps of the metro entrance.

I would visit Boulangeries Paul very often to get a baguette from the oven when I was in Paris. Really glad their bread is consistently good even outside France. We ordered the tuna salad lunch and the quiche lunch, both include a basket of bread and drink. Needless to say it tasted good. The quiche was especially yummy! The quiche which I had at Dean & Deluca Tokyo Midtown last week paled in comparison. In spite of the fact it was around noon and nearly full with business workers in the restaurant, the dishes were served within 10 minutes with efficient and hospitable service. Even though every waiter and waitress looked very young they were attentive and sensible during very busy lunch time. I’d really like to go there again while I’m staying in Tokyo if I have a chance.
