Great lunchtime Japanese Teishoku(定食) eatery with about 5 or 6 things on their menus — of which two or three are daily specials — so service is fast. From ordering to getting your food will take less than 5 mins. Menu is basically fish(fried, braised, sashimi, etc) which comes with rice, soup and a few vegetable dishes. There is no smoking at lunch(Yeah!) — the place doesn’t have a cigarette smell either, which is unusual for an Izakaya. You can order extra rice for no extra charge. Prices are all 1000y including tax, but there are no English menus so best to go there with a friend who can read. This place gets packed at lunch and by noon there is usually already a line so best to go between 11:30 and 11:50. The place is small, with about 40 – 45 seats only. You have to wait outside to get seated, which isn’t always that pleasant. This place becomes an Izakaya(pub) at night. They have a large selection of Japanese sake on display, but I’ve never been there in the evening. I’d like to try it some day.
