Had the black sesame tantanmen and ma po tofu lunch set. The starter manju was decent with a good piece of pork inside. The tantanmen itself was fabulous. Not too spicy(medium/medium-mild) – it could have used more heat – with a rich but not overpowering sesame flavor to the broth. The flavor of the ground meat was somewhat lost in the broth. The ma po tofu was a decent medium-heat blend seeped in chili oil. A decent execution albeit not outstanding. The sesame ball dessert was amazing. It may have been one of the best renditions of this classic that I’ve ever had. The blend of white sesame outside with the black inside was a nice balance of two similar flavors.
