Reasonable, lively and full of expats. If you are looking for a friend, here is one place to go in Tokyo. Chicago style pizza is their specialty, as well as craft beer. Having spent some years in Chicago, I found the pizza very different from real Chicago pizza, like the ones at Eduardo’s. This is a healthier version a la japonaise. If you are expecting the heavy, authentic version, this could be slightly disappointing. We ordered a small, expecting cheesy filling that makes people instantaneously full, but the stuffing of this one is light and full of vegetables. Spicy chicken wings are really spicy. Salad was very good and fried potatoes were freshly fried. I can see why this place is so popular. I will be back!

You can enjoy real deep-dish-style pizza here at Devil Craft — They have 2 branches in Tokyo, one in Kanda and the other in Hamamatsucho. Both offer pretty much the same food but the major difference is that this one in Hamamatsucho is much more spacious and more than half of the customers are usually non-Japanese people. Their deep-dish pizzas are very good — chunky toppings(meats, vegetables), crispy crust — they are pretty filling! My favorite is The Big Cheese which literally has a lot of cheese on it and the rich flavor goes with the tomato sauce. The simplicity is awesome. Other than pizza, they offer buffalo wings that are also pretty good and spicy. They serve a variety of beers from many different countries as well. As this place’s become popular, reservation is necessary.

Ate here for my birthday party. Reservation for 8 and 2500 yen food course, drinks seperate. The food was plenty! Each person got salad, fries, onion rings, two kinds of chicken wings, 2 slices of pizza aaaand cheese cake. Everything tasted great. The timing of food was fast and furious but very efficient. My friends enjoyed the beer. I loved my rare diet coke! We also got a great slice of pecan pie.

So, there are a lot of things to consider when eating at Devil Craft. 1. Price. If you buy a pizza in Japan from Pizza La or the other Pizza chains, it is expensive. The quality compared to American style pizza is not really equivalent. So if you compare a 3,500 yen pie at Pizza La to a large Chicago Deep Dish at Devil Craft, hands down — the price is legitimate. Some people complain about the price, but they fail to mention the price in comparison to other American Pizza joints. You pay out the nose for American Steak, American Burgers, and American Pizza. Just deal with it. Also, any draft beer bar with all imports(i.e. American imported drafts) is about 1,100 yen a pint. So, if you come to a Chicago Style Deep Dish pizza joint with 21 drinks on tap with none from Japan — leave your complaints on the hit to your wallet at the door and realize the market and competition. 2. Size. I love pizza. I can eat a lot of pizza. The wife and I ordered 2 small pizzas(Buffalo Chicken and Abe Froman) — the menu states 1 small can feed 1 to 2 people. They mean children, the size of a small got me really, really, really hungry — we ended up ordering a 3rd — Meatzilla. If you can kill a single pie yourself in the states, definitely just start and stay with larges, works better. They do take a while to cook. 3. Taste. Honestly, I have not had a better deep dish in Japan and the meat here is awesome. There is a reason I ordered 3 pies, there is a reason I had 3 pints of cider, there is a reason I will come back. Its good, it’s worth it if you miss a little bit of America and you’ll pay for nostalgia. Its not the best, but its the best you’ll find, and sometimes that’s good enough. All in all, 5.5 pints of cider, 2 small pizzas, 1 large pizza, and 1 side of fries was 13,000 yen. It was worth it for me, for the taste, size, and price… I liked it and will be back. If you prefer the cheap Japanese grocery pizza, stick with it, if you miss a little deep dish with decent meat and good Hops, come here…

It’s good to know that even halfway around the world, you can still find a slice of heaven and a cold beer to wash it all down. Chicago pizza and craft beer, right in the heart of Tokyo — that’s a bold move Cotton. Good thing for us though, because they do it right at DevilCraft. The pizza is very good, with a deep dish crust with just the right texture. Meanwhile, the taps are well stocked with local and foreign craft brews. If you’re in Tokyo and crave something different than the standard local fare, check out DevilCraft.

This restaurant serves Chicago pizza and many types of craft beer. Chicago pizza has very thick dough and a lot of topping ingredients. I was moved the first time when I saw this.

Very pricey, even by Tokyo standards. However, the food was pretty good and the choices of craft beer can’t be beat. They forgot to put in part of our order so we ended up waiting over an hour for our food to come.

It’s pricey and the pizzas come out a bit slow, but everything here tastes really good – the bf(Chicago native) had no complaints! We started with an order of onion rings, which came out right away and were hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. It took a lot longer to get our pizza, at least 30 minutes. We split a large Devilcraft Works between the two of us. It was a bit much for two people, but the menu only had small and large sizes. We’ve ordered a small pizza at their Kanda location before, and it was just so dinky looking that it was kind of pathetic… like a personal pan pizza! I’d recommend having at least three people, though, if you’re getting a large. The beer selection is awesome but a bit steep at ~¥1000/pint. I had the pineapple ale which had a good pineapple flavor without being cloying. Unfortunately, I noticed after we were finished that they had a Meyer Lemon Honey Ale on tap. Too bad, but hopefully they’ll have it again next time!

Deep dish pizza and craft beer is not a combination you’re likely to see much in Japan. Great pizzas with some very unique flavors, the night I was there they had a sensational chicken tikka masala inspired pizza for an Avery brewing special event(and to pair with their The Maharaja IPA). Plenty of craft beers that are even hard to find in some US breweries. A very friendly vibe and the regulars will always strike up a conversation.

It’s pretty expensive place, but it’s good that they have deep pan pizza! It’s quite unusual to have in Japan. There are many kind of beers, all crafted. It was good but it’s too noisy… not recommend to go alone.

Not perfect, but certainly delicious. Only complaint is the price for beer, although usually that is also delicious! Closest thing to american pizza I’ve eaten in Tokyo yet!

Not that deep dish pizza was one of my most favorite, I start missing it dearly once in the country where it’s hard to get it. When I was told about this place by my fellow US expats, I was so relieved that I can get to have deep dish pizza in this Asian soil. This place is located more than 5 min/less than 10 min walk from JR Hamamatsucho station. It’s pretty easy to find because all you got to do is walk down oath along the track and will see it on the right. Awesomely this place also offer craft beers. It also serves as a great get away from«Lager Land» aka Japan. We tried«Mizza» and«Veggie Works». They don’t make«cheap imitation» of deep dish pizza but keep it «real». They genuinely packed all veggie & meat goodness and coat with seductive scent and flavor of cheese. It didn’t disappoint me. Felt like I was back in the states again. Great beer, great pizza… What else can I ask for?
