As a foreigner looking for some relief, I expected a bit more but I digress. First, there is no direct contact except for the foot massage part. They have you dress in a t-shirt and shorts while you get a massage, and after that, they place a towel over you for the duration of the massage. The massage was mostly accupressure where the masseuse would push into the skin and create pressure and then move to the next spot and do the same thing. Some transitionary phases were strokes, but 95% of it was this sort of pointed-pressure deal. Also, the towel got me so hot that I began sweating. Luckily it was near the end of the session so I didn’t bother to say anything. In any case, for 1 hour it was 6,600JPY. No tip necessary. The masseuse gave it a good try but in the end, I need more strokes with direct contact or else you can’t get a good rub and deep tissue is pretty much impossible. This place is also legit and their pre-session form indicates that if you are seeking this type of service that you should leave and find it elsewhere. Again, if you enjoy massages, this place is at best decent, if not boring. I fell asleep more because I was already tired and not because it was relaxing.
