The 1967 bar is a hidden spot that offers good quality bites at late night. We arrived about 4am and the place was almost empty except for a couple tables. Even though, the staff were very polite and made us feel very welcome. We tried the shrimp toast with crisp coconut that was creative and simple at the same time, with interesting and light flavors. Then we had the pork dim sum that was perfectly made and the meat was very moist and tasteful. At last we tried the spicy beef noodle soup that was good and well prepared. The prices were reasonable for food and drinks, combined with the charming ambiance makes the 1967 a perfect spot for a few bites and drinks in good companion.

Beautiful! And it’s hidden away, you wouldn’t guess that this bland white plastered entrance with an elevator takes you up to this elegance. Based on the food that our host ordered for us, was pretty average. But still in liking this place for the drinks and ambience. There’s a karaōke area here as well!

1967 is a welcome addition to the Tokyo nightlife when it opened its doors a year ago in March 2013. The venue is by far one of the coolest lounge bars to hit the scene in years, and is the perfect place to pre-drink or wind down the evening. Inspired by the top clubs of Paris, the venue has all the gold gilded VIP booths to the foliage-lined outdoor deck that is reminiscent of the original, and arguably done even better. Enjoy a cocktail at the bar or settle back into the couches to over a bottle of champagne while sampling the pan-Asian tapas. With couple seats as well as a private Karaōke Room this venue has it all. The venue is located on the 3rd floor of building across Grand Hyatt Hotel and Roppongi Hills. Beer from 800 Yen(Approx. $ 8USD), glass of wine from 900 Yen(Approx. $ 9USD), cocktail from 1,000 Yen(Approx. $ 10USD), glass of champagne 1,600 Yen(Approx. $ 16USD). Seconds from Grand Hyatt and Roppongi Metro Station. English menu available. The best part about this bar is the open terrace and the ambiance. (Food and drinks itself is average and rather forgettable)

This may be one of my favorite spots in Roppongi. It’s one of the few rooftop bars with enough greenery that you forget that you’re in the middle of the city. I’ve spent countless evenings and nights sitting outside on the terrace, enjoying the lounge couch/chairs while looking up at the night sky. As the evenings got chillier the kind staff would provide blankets and turn up the heaters for patrons like myself that enjoy the outdoors. The entrance is a bit eery — weird photos of smoking children, dark curtains lining the hallways and an overpowering smell of… detergent? But once you make it to the bar you’ll understand why I’m a regular. There are three different outdoors areas and each is charming and fitting depending on what type of group you’re with. Tables/stools are good for a large group of serious drinkers, couch sofas are nice for a medium size of leisurely drinkers… and my personal favorite, the two people seats out on the terrace. If you’re lucky enough to get the couch bed at the furthest corner of the terrace, you’ll never want to leave. You could pretend that you’re on a resort somewhere in South East Asia… lie down… relax… Until, the waiter peeks around the corner to ask to refill you drink and you remember that you’re not alone. Personally, I don’t like the food here and the drinks are nothing to write home about. The selling point of this bar is its outdoor terrace and ambiance.
