This restaurant used to be SAVOY in Nakameguro and then it was renovated as Seirinkan in 2007. Their pizza tastes very similar to SAVOY in Azabu Juban though pizza here is a bit thicker. I only have either Margherita or Marinara here, so I’m not commenting on any other dishes like pasta(there are different kinds of pasta on the menu). The atmosphere here is a bit unique — it’s like an old house from the Middle Ages… I wouldn’t say it’s a cozy place, but I guess some people like it, especially girls, so you might want to use if for a date. There’s often people lined up in front of the restaurant, so you definitely want to make a reservation beforehand. I personally like FREY’s Famous Pizzeria better as it tastes more natural and less olive oil used.

I think Seirinkan makes an absolutely superb pizza. If you’re in the Tokyo area be sure to make this a stop on your adventure. This place is a gem in the frenetic environment that Tokyo is. They only serve two styles of pizza and a few appetizers. I ordered both pizzas and was completely blown away with the flavor and heartiness. A key element in both pizzas is a heavy dose of olive oil. Calorie watchers beware. A must try.

Who would have thought that I would find some of the best pizza in the world in a tiny restaurant on a narrow street a few miles outside Central Tokyo. Everything about the pizza was phenomenal. There are only two choices(I had the Margherita) but that was enough. If you are in Tokyo and want to break from Ramen, find your way to Nakameguro and one of Tokyo’s more unusual shrines.

I was super excited to try this famous pizza place. The décor is really interesting and nice. But the taste was just alright. Not bad. But nothing outstanding and a bit salty. We shared two kinds of pizzas and pastas and ordered two bottles of white wine. Great place to chill and enjoy the ambience. The waitress was friendly and nice.

This is place is the bomb! I first thought Seirinkan sounded like some karate dojo but by hearing the name but was I wrong. In the back streets of Nakameguro, this place is causing a lot of buzz they opened. With very modern and industrial designs, 3 storeys high, the front of the restaurant showcases a spiral staircase while the whole front part of the building is filled with 200 small windows. Check out their website, it really is quite impressive. Famous for the Napoli style pizza, reservations are hard to make, we were only given 90mins for our booking. But it was well worth it, the pizzas here were excellent; go for the margherita pizza. Also try they tomato and basil with garlic appetiser it’s to die for. They keep things simple but doesn’t disappoint. Can’t wait to go again and try everything. Go for lunch to check out their building properly.
