I was in Jiyugaoka today and decided to stop here for lunch. It’s very near the station and I didn’t have time to explore so I just chose here. It wasn’t bad. I had 黒吉(kurokichi?) ramen. It had a very rich flavor, though I added a little red sauce and garlic to enhance it(I like it very very rich). The meat was a good amount too. Sometimes you go to a ramen shop and they give you one slice of thin meat. I also ordered a set of gyoza. It was OK, but nothing to write home about. They were a little small, though I guess it was only 200 yen for three of them. One thing that annoyed me(and I know it’s silly) is the server didn’t ask me how I wanted my noodles. He probably assumed I couldn’t understand Japanese and so he didn’t bother, but I was able to use the vending machine so clearly I had some understanding. I like them soft and they were a little harder than I liked. Overall it wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t go out of the way to come here. I would go again, but maybe I’ll try some other shops around the area if I have more time.
