I’ve had dinner and drinks at this place at least 10 times now, so I figured I’d fork over some info. Pros: –Atmosphere. Casual, laid-back dining under cozy lighting. There are six counter seats for those that like to have a view of the kitchen, and a few two– and four-top tables in the main dining area and side room. Spanish background music. –Non-smoking! All seats, all the time. –Food. Good selection of Spain-inspired dishes; everything from paella to ajillo and beyond. Everything is made-to-order, so respect the heat. Some of the dishes are served piping hot. Lots of seasonal dishes are listed on the blackboard, so it’s always a pleasure to visit after a month or two hiatus. –Drinks. There are always special bottles of wine available by the glass(at least three reds and three whites). These featured bottles change month to month, so there’s usually something new to try. –Service. Friendly and professional. –Location. Less than two minutes on foot from the south exit of Hanakoganei Station(Seibu Shinjuku Line). Cons: –Food. When it’s busy, the food can take a while to prepare. Make no mistake, it’s being made with love, but it may be a couple back in the queue. With that in mind, it’s best to order your food as soon as possible after arriving. Overall: I like this place because of the Spanish theme and ability to drink and dine without being bathed in secondhand smoke. This place is suited to folks who like to imbibe. Sit down, order some food, and enjoy a drink or two before the first dishes start to arrive.
