I was told you can’t get Kobe outside of Kobe. Got the kobe lunch teppanyaki. There was no extra gimmicky tricks that you’d see at some teppanyaki places. Just watching the chef cook the beautifully marbled steak. Delicious, melt in your mouth. Make reservations before going.

Kobe beef is undoubtedly the king of all beef. You don’t even need teeth to eat this stuff. Your gums will suffice. It’s buttery, like very warm butter it just melts, decadent, flavorful, beautifully marbled, and expensive… but well worth it. The chef that prepared our meat and veggies for us was awesome. Being tourists, we weren’t too sure what to dip everything in and how to eat everything properly. He did a great job directing. I really appreciate that the teppanyaki was not an obnoxious show. Most that I’ve been to in the states do the whole knife and egg tossing stuff. I get it, but this place just focused on cooking and delivering outstanding food. I was mesmerized by how everything on the cut of Kobe beef was used. The chef sliced the fat off and let it sit and melt completely down, then he used it to flavor our fried rice. Holy heaven that was good. Hands down best beef I’ve eaten in my life. I’ll never have anything like it again, eating Kobe beef in Kobe city is a once and a lifetime experience. The restaurant was nice, décor wasn’t anything special, but it was clean and fancy. The food and chef earned 5 stars. Our server on the other hand, I wasn’t impressed with. She was very cold and unwelcoming. It didn’t match the food or the prices we were paying.

This is my first time trying Kobe beef, and I’ve concluded that it belongs in a completely separate class apart from steak. We came for lunch, which is a wonderful option if you want the Kobe beef experience at a budget. There are a few lunch sets offered, but only one of them is Kobe steak so make sure you verify! The lunch special included soup, salad, rice, veggies, and the main attraction — Kobe beef(A4 grade). The A5 Kobe is markedly more expensive. There are a variety of sauces that you can dip your meat and vegetables in. Don’t worry. The chef provides his suggestions for the best pairings. The meat itself is tender and marbled perfectly. The Kobe beef is cooked in front of you in small batches so each bite is served warm. At the end, we were served coffee/tea as well as a light sorbet, which was refreshing after such a heavy and rich meal.

I think there are two places with the same name and this is not the exact location I went to, but they’re owned by the same people. I ended up going to the location across the street from Shinkobe station. I ordered the lunch special that included a soup, salad, vegetables and quite a bit of kobe beef. They cook it right in front of you. Definitely really delicious. One of the best meats I’ve ever eaten. Really fatty in the mouth feel, but the flavor was delicious. It’s actually a really big piece of meat for lunch. I ended with some tea and some sorbet. They did come with interesting accoutrements to pair with the meat — grilled garlic, salt, pepper, mustard and soy sauce. The garlic, salt and pepper together were so great. The vegetables were nicely grilled too. Overall, such a great experience. I loved the kobe beef. Definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had.
