About two blocks from Sonnomiya JR Station. My friends I met while I was in Japan found this place on tripadvisor and we all decided to come here. There were only two people working at the time when we arrived. There was the waiter and the cook. I guess there are two types of menus for this place. If you want kobe beef they have a separate menu for that and another menu for other items and set meals. We were in Kobe and we wanted to try Kobe beef for the first time. So, thats what we got. For about an extra 800 yen you get a bunch of side items such as miso soup, rice, and ice cream. All I have to say is that it was worth every yen spent. There was so much food that we couldn’t finish everything. The service was really great, the waiter came by and made sure everything was good and with the language barrier. He would bring out an ipad to translate Japanese to English. I’ve also read that this place loves to feed their customers. I was so stuffed, I forgot that we still had ice cream. But, I managed to finish the ice cream. I fell asleep on the train back to Kyoto, due to food coma.

Made reservations for this place a week in advance. Not sure if it’s necessary but definitely will help. When we went, there were 3 different parties that stopped by that were turned away. They offer prefix menus: we opted for the cheapest option(3500 yen/person) due to a review we read on tripadvisor about the generous amount of food they provide. No regrets. After 8 or so courses, I was stuffed. Each course had amazing flavor and something different — from Kobe beef, medium fatty tuna, grilled fish, octopus, and tuna rolls — everything was delicious. When dessert arrived I was full, but not uncomfortably full — a rare occasion when I go out. We also had a tall bottle of Asahi to share, and the bill came out to ~8100 yen altogether for two people with tax. Pretty amazing for one of the top prefix menus I’ve had during my stay in Japan!!!
