At around 2 or 3pm in the afternoon, there were still about six people waiting outside. There doesn’t appear to be a real wait list, but the woman just inside the door seemed to keep a good sense of who was in front of whom. Our wait wasn’t more than 15 minutes at this hour. We did end up sitting at a table with a lone eater; lots of the tables in this small restaurant are communal when the parties are smaller. The menu is short. There is an English version, but none of the wait staff appeared to speak English. We ended up pointing at someone else’s dish to indicate what we wanted. The curry tasted a bit like a meat stew. It was rich but full of meat. There are some pickled vegetables already at the table that you can put on top of your rice and then pour the curry over; it adds some nice texture and flavor. You definitely have to rely on watching others around you eat the curry, but if you’re ok being a little out of the comfort zone, this spot is a fun foodie experience.

Looking for food after a long day of walking around Kamakura. Kamakura is an odd place for food… lots of history to see and appreciate here but the food leaves a lot to be desired. This place popped on Unilocal, when we showed up at 6PM there was a line waiting outside the door, it must be good. So we were two back and it took about ten minutes for us to be seated. The line had grown as we waited, again this is a good sign, right? We got in to eat, all the pictures on Unilocal are accurate, no need to add another duplicate. You get curry and a huge serving of rice. The curry was good, but nothing that makes me think I would go out of my way to comeback. The word I got is that they simmer their curry so long that the protein in it breaks down. That is pretty awesome. Bottom line, if you are in Kamakura and have a craving for curry this is a good option. If you are in Yokohama, Yokosuka or Sapporo, you can find something similar close to home, do not go out of your way.

First true Japanese meal in country to please take with a grain of salt. It is fairly good as far as curry goes but, honestly if you’ve had Indian«curry» you’re not missing a lot by having this curry. The line was indeed long, however; the wait staff was quick and responsive so overall a good experience but, the food was eh?.

If you would like to go this restaurant. Please go this restaurant before opening time. you got to late, you have to wait in the line for long. In such time, I recommend the frozen curry takeway. Just way, you have no time in the line. You should bring a frozen bag at the time.

Walking from the train station feeling hungry. Noticed a line out the door in front of a place that smelled like my favorite thing! Curry! We stood in line and it moved in a timely manner. Once we got seated and placed our order the food was there in a flash. I had the beef curry and added egg. It was really thick and yummy with just enough spice. The meal itself was pretty cheap. Beef curry was around 860 yen. Which is really good considering how obviously popular this place is. Bottom line. If your here and like curry you should eat here.
