This soba shop is located at the top of Mount Takao. They do have an English menu and the shop owner’s English is pretty good! Unfortunately, they already ran out of soba noodles. Now, we did stop at every attraction on the way up Trail 1. But we also made sure to start hiking pretty early. By the time we got to the peak, it was after prime lunch hour, but definitely well before the closing of the mountain — and there were a lot more people climbing up to the peak. As for the food, we got dipping udon(because they were out of soba noodles). It wasn’t very good. The broth was way too salty, and no water was given to dilute the broth. The ratio of broth to noodles was also off. By the time I finished the noodles, half my broth remained.(And halfway through eating, I noticed this and made sure to get as much broth on my noodles as possible.) But, it is the only shop at the top — monopoly effect results in non-optimal food for us hikers. On the plus side, they do have cold bottled Kirin beer :)
