We were weary from trying to find a memorable place for our last real meal in Japan before we left, and thankfully stumbled upon this place. The menu and concept is a bit hard to comprehend as an English speaker, but thanks to some help, we made some very tasty choices. As far as I can tell, they have a single special meat cut that’s on the menu, and then they have a board with other traditional cuts such as tenderloin, which we had. So unbelievably tender. They give you some really great dipping sauces, including a homemade steak sauce, but you don’t really need them — the meat is plenty flavorful. Leaner than other high-end Japanese steak cuts we had, but not lacking in flavor or tenderness at all. The menu also offers numerous«side» options. I say«side», as some could nearly be a meal themselves, while others are more traditional sides/apps. The standout was the Japanese beef curry. Think like gravy, but with a roux+curry taste — absolutely amazing. It comes out hot in a small cast iron pot, so it stays nice and hot, though it won’t take you long to devour it. Also tried their sausages, which were also very good, but pricey for how small they were(think breakfast sausage size). And the shrimp cocktail, though pricey too, might have been one of the best we’ve had. Huge flavorful shrimp with a great Asian dipping sauce. A very attractive place with tasteful and unique accents, warm service, and memorable food(we had to order a second round of steak and curry). I think they normally have a decent beer list too. They were celebrating Oktoberfest by having a handful of German imports on tap, and not your standard ones either. Sit next to the front windows if you can, as they open and allow you to enjoy the nice summer air.
