I stumbled across this little soba shop in search of something to eat before leaving Tokyo. The place was packed at 9AM with a huge tourist family from China, so we were lucky to grab the last two seats in the restaurant. The chef, while clearly busy, stopped to greet us and ask for our patience while he served the family. He was very kind and we did not mind the wait. He helped us through the menu(luckily, my boyfriend speaks Japanese fairly well and I work at a Japanese restaurant so there wasn’t a lot of confusion), and we ordered tenzaru soba with an assortment of tempura and a sake onigiri. The wasabi was freshly ground, and the soba perfectly cooked, and the tempura included ebi, ika, mushroom(oyster mushroom?), and green bean. The batter was pretty light; the mushroom tempura was our favorite. The sake onigiri was standard but well made. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the food and service and would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try delicious soba from an authentic place.
