I’m slowly trying to work my way through the various Yaechika restaurants and this yakitori restaurant caught my eye on a busy night when it was difficult to get into another similar joints in the area. Ordered a small set of yakitori(meatball, chicken wing, neck, basic chicken(shouniku)) and mixed salad as well as fried tofu. The fried tofu was pretty good. Nice crust on the outside and still nice and smooth internally. The various chicken products had their ups and downs. I was definitely more of a fan of the salted variety than those that I ordered with sauce, although some were maybe a bit over seasoned – a bit too salty. Still, the meatball was nice and juicy, the chicken wing still have a nice crisp skin, and the neck was moist with a nice bite. Oddly enough it was the shouniku that was overcooked and a boring dried lump. The salad was fairly standard fare – more shirasu please! It did not appear that the restaurant segregated smoking from nonsmoking, or if they did, not effectively. That may bother some people who care about such things.

Good food, but poor service for Japan. This is probably because we spoke English and no Japanese. There was no English menu, so ordering was difficult. There were a lot of options on the menu, but we didn’t know what to order because we couldn’t read the menu. When we were ready to order, it took a long time to get the waitress’s attention. Throughout the meal it was also difficult to wave her down. The assorted yakitori was really yummy. I normally do not like chicken hearts or liver but it was pretty good. I also loved the koge onigiris. The crème brûlée was also quite good.
