So happy to find an Ikinari branch in Higashi Ginza, this stand-as-you-eat place(tachigui) will be my weekly lunch Keto feed! Had the 300gr US Angus«wild» steak, it was served up sizzling and rare, it keeps cooking as the cast iron pan cools. Set came with rice, beef broth, salad and some yellow corn. Garlicky buttery stuff on top. Condiments include garlic, wasabi or mustard. There’s also a house steak sauce but I just ground pepper over it all. The beef was well marbled, so Keto/low carb fans can enjoy it. Also serves Australian beef. And drinkers can add red wine for 500 yen a glass or 2500 yen a bottle. Beer and cocktails, too.

All the steaks are deliciously cooked to order and taste great. Price is good, especially when compared to other places that serve steaks in the area. I really enjoyed the flavor of the sirloin, beef tenderloin, and the naruo rib eye. Very tender and flavorful. The special sauce they have on the tables for the steaks was very good also. Steak doesn’t need it but it gives it a different but good flavor. We would definitely come back again the next time we are in the Tokyo ginza area. Love the food here!

Wow, seriously impressed. Colleague and I decided we wanted steak for dinner, and we’re staying in the Marunouchi area, so everything nearby is either super-expensive or a chef-branded place(or both). Took a nice walk to Ginza and walked right into Ikinari, and we were happy we did. Friendly staff, simple accommodations, great steaks, and incredibly low prices. A 300g ribeye for 2,114 yen! Steak was cooked precisely to temperature(cook was using an instant-read thermometer) and butcher showed us our steaks before they went into the kitchen so we could confirm that they were what we ordered. Definitely recommended.

The guys at Pepper Lunch has found themselves another jackpot! Opened only 2 months ago, Ikinari! Steak has been packed since day one. Their concept is a steak house that offers prime rib steaks starting from 300g! And there are no seats! just counters and high tables and your steak. Hence the name Ikinari! Steak with«ikinarI» meaning all of a sudden or abruptly with no preparation because they really mean business. This is a eat-n-leave steak house that doesn’t have any fancy service. Ask for the size you want(starting from no less than 3000g) and it will be cut in front of you and charcoal grilled and served in a hot iron plate. And have I mentioned that for 300g, it’s only 1500yen?! I know… it’s madness.
