¥300 Table Charge per Person, which they did not tell us until the bill came. It’s nice to have a selection of foreign beers(and not too expensive compared to other places I’ve been in Tokyo), but the food was rather expensive and the portions were very small(although tasty). The music they played consisted of about 6 American pop songs which were played on repeat. My group was pretty turned off by the table fee, so it dampened the experience as we left. If I went back, it would be for the beer selection(considering the area), but I think I’d rather find another place.

One star for a decent beer, overpriced cheese cube the size of a quarter and being smug.

Dropped by here for a pre dinner drink. Before my trip to Tokyo, I thought I would be drinking a lot of sake but instead I have been drinking beers, a lot of beers. Craft Beer Market is just a perfect place for beer lovers. Here you will find 30 rotating taps all from local Japanese breweries. 480 Yen/790 Yen for glass/pint which is really reasonable compares to other bars/pubs. The menu is quite helpful as it is divided by beer styles. For non Japanese reader like me, at least I can just point randomly at a Amber, Black, Fruit, IPA and I would at least get a beer style I enjoy. All the staff here is young and energetic. I just love the vibe. I almost melt when the bartender explaining the character, the style of what he was serving me in Japanese even I didn’t understand what he was saying… Pink Pop IPA even the name sounded so «Japanese» Kawaii Cuteness! Grapefruity with just a light Hoppiness. They do now offers an AYCE for 4000 Yen(2 hours). With 30 beers on taps and if you are a big drinker, that might be the way to go. With me, I just wish they have flights and samples so I can try out more beers and Untappd them all!

This is a great place. Looks like a common soso beer food. But actually it’s delicious! Many tables are reserved.

Yum is one word to describe it; cool and trendy are other good adjectives for Craft Beer Market in Nihombashi. This restaurant/bar is located in a cool little area littered with bars and restaurants that(as I’ve been told) cater to a lot of business men and women. I was there on a Saturday, so I did not notice as many businessmen(or women) there, but more of a younger rowdier crowd. We were told(via translation from a friend I brought there) that the beer menu changes everyday! I got a Yokohama lager, my boyfriend got a lagunitas, and unfortunately I don’t know what my Japanese friend ordered, because he ordered in Japanese :-(… But he seemed to enjoy it! As the night wore on, we could smell the delicious aroma of food making it’s way from the kitchen. So, even though we had just eaten a few hours earlier, we decided to order some gyoza. So, luckily we had my Japanese friend with us, and he ordered from the menu(which is only in Japanese — and apparently they do not offer an English menu). What arrived was not what I was expecting. This plate of food looked deep fat fried, and had some type of pink dipping sauce. We came to find out that not only did my friend order us the gyoza, he also ordered us the best damn fish(without the chips) I’ve ever had. The pink dipping sauce, as he explained, was a type of tarter sauce; the pink color coming from a special type of Japanese pickle. He gyoza were equally as delicious, and it was either filled with some sort of pork or chicken. All in all it was a great night, filled with great beer, good food and a fun atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place to other people. To note the reason for only 4 stars: lack of an English language menu.

I’ll have another pint. Kampai! Down a back alley in a quiet corner of central Tokyo, you’ll find one of the friendliest, coolest and tastiest joints in town. Not only do they have a rotating list of 30+ beers, but the food is amazing. We had already had dinner and just wanted to stop in for a couple beers, but when our neighbors’ Gyoza came out actually sizzling on an iron hot plate, it was over. Add to that an order of fish fried in panko — probably the within the top 3 best fried fish I’ve ever had — and dinner was a long lost memory. Beers are great(Lagunitas IPA in Tokyo?!) and the atmosphere is just damn cool. The staff was amazing. Squeezing us in to a comfy corner bar top when they easily could have sent us away on a busy Saturday night. Dropping a single star because you pay a bit, no doubt it’s worth it but they should learn what a ‘pint’ is when the charge 800 yen(beers are undersized at 330 cl). Still worth a drop in for sure. One more round please.
