One thing that makes Yonpachi very unique is that it is directly owned by a collective of fishermen dotted around the country. They send their catches to the restaurant, and the catch tends to be extremely fresh and tasty. Also, you can find fish here that you will not find even in most seafood restaurants in Japan – for example, I had grilled Hakkaku-uo(8-pointed fish) which I’d never even heard of before, but was delicious. There is an English language menu if necessary, but some menu items(particularly the daily catch menu) don’t appear on it, so you should ask. For example, many sashimi items are on the daily catch menu, so just ask for good sashimi and the waiters will help you out. Most items on the menu tend to be quite small in portion-size, so be aware you will have to order a good number of items to fill up. Expect to pay around 4000 yen per person for a full meal experience at dinner. I highly recommend the seafood gyoza soup as well as any sashimi they recommend for the day. A place I plan to visit at least once every time I’m in Tokyo.
