Fantastic sushi and sashimi. Very friendly staff and chef. Ice cold beer. They have menus in English but if you can speak Japanese and just say what you are in the mood for, they will make a nice dish/set. Best to make reservations(they were almost full even on a Monday) or go really early. Be prepared to pay, though, but it is worth the price. They do take credit cards. Also, like other Japanese establishments, they do all allow smoking but the ventilation system helped.

Fantastic. Little hole in the wall on the second floor. You’d never know it’s there. Great food. Nicest sushi chefs. I don’t speak much Japanese and they were great. Funny too. Great experience. Highly recommend

We stumbled and I mean literally stumbled on this amazing restaurant. It is on the second floor, halfway down an alleyway. Staff speaks little English but very friendly. We sat at the bar and watched what other people were eating and said we wanted to try that. Sashimi was fresh and cuts were generous. It was just a couple blocks from our hotel(.2 miles, translation around the corner). We will be back!

Excellent! The review from Jason caught my eye and glad I kept trying to find this 2nd floor restaurant among the many along the side street. The friendly welcome to the super tasty sushi and the jokingly sushi chef made this a gem to visit. The broken English of «surprise» sushi was very tasty. The chef used aji with some dark curled addition… oh man another please! Then a slice of Japanese steak with caviar and I think Yama, succulent morsel in the mouth. The fresh shrimp(still jumping) in scalded water, then a slight drizzle of Japanese lime made this delicate and oh so delicious. Okay am I running out of adjectives… but of course with out perfectly cooked sushi rice I feel this experience would be a slight less… so that means the rice was perrrfect! Enjoy and enjoy! Aloha

The place is easy to miss. It’s on a side street a few blocks from the Tokyo Dome(where we’d just seen a Giants game), and there’s only a small sign out, in Japanese, instructing you to go to the second floor. We took a chance. When we entered, an employee asked(in English) if we speak Japanese. We said no. He seemed impressed – either that we found the place at all, or that we dared to enter. Great! This place is awesome. It’s totally local, and the food turned out to be great. There was an English menu, and some of the staff spoke enough English to guide us through the order. The fish was fresh, the service friendly. Only problem: We had no idea how much anything cost, and it turned out to cost a LOT. Two people’s worth of sushi was 10,800 yen, or a bit more than $ 100. Eek. But for the authentic experience, it was worth it.
