I stayed at remm Akihabara for 9 nights this past July, and I found the hotel to be excellent. The rooms are tiny, but modern, very clean, and comfortable. At around $ 100USD per night, it’s also very affordable by Tokyo standards. Its location directly adjacent to the JR and Tsukuba Express Akihabara stations is extremely convenient for accessing most of the major sights in Tokyo. There are plenty of restaurants in the area(both cheap and upscale), lots of shopping to do at the Yodobashi Akiba electronics megastore just a block away, and there’s a convenience store just across the street for any late night snacks/drinks. As the bullet train terminus at Tokyo station is only 5 minutes away on the local train line, it’s also fairly convenient for trips out to other destinations such as Kyoto. Although I’ve stayed at much nicer hotels in Tokyo before(like the Marriott Autograph Collection The Prince Sakura Tower in Shinagawa), since I’m someone who tends to leave the hotel in the morning and not come back until after 9pm every day, I actually might prefer remm Akihabara as its location is just so much more convenient for touring my favorite sights in Tokyo.

REMM Akihabara is a hotel located right above Akihabara Station. From the street level, it is actually really hard to locate, because the lobby is actually located on the 6th floor. But if you look up, there is a giant REMM sign right on the top of the building. This is by far one of the most convenient and best accommodated hotels in this district. The room is typical Japanese hotel size. It is Western walk-in shower with two faucets. The toilet has a heated seat with bidet functions. They stock the room daily with shaving razors, soap, face wash, shampoo, and water. It is really geared towards foreigners and especially younger, more modern guests. There is free Wi-fi and basic television. A typical single/double includes a desk, a lounge chair, and a full size bed. Like most places in Tokyo, there isn’t much wiggle room other than that. Compared to other accommodations in Akihabara, it is a little pricey to stay at Remm. I got it off Expedia and it was $ 140USD a night after fees. A comparable hotel would be the Washington Hotel across the street. But even they are at most $ 20-$ 30 cheaper. If you want a more extended stay option, I recommend the much cheaper hotels within 1 mile of the station. If you are staying even longer than a week. I recommend reserving a room at the Sakura House, which is the price of an apartment for extended stays.

The Remm Akihabara hotel is cozy and in a great location. The room comes fully equipped with a bed, room theatre, massage chair, and a heated seat Toto washlet with not once, twice but thrice the bidet action. Another perk is Akihabara station located ust downstairs. It is surprisingly simple to navigate once you enter the station. Really.

The Remm Akihabara is a great hotel, despite the fact that the rooms are a wee bit tiny. But, in a city like Toyko and in a district like Akihabara, there’s very little reason to stay holed in your room since there is so much to see, eat and do! The Remm is conveniently located right next door to a Starbucks, a train/metro station, a Uniqlo(just in case you need some clothes for very reasonable prices) and even a Starbucks. Unfortunately, Remm doesn’t have its own restaurant, so the staff here directs you to Café Brauner which has great coffee, but eating chicken curry for breakfast doesn’t excite my typically American palette. Unfortunately and likely due to the small size of the rooms, you won’t find an iron or ironing board, so you’ll have to call the front desk in order to request one. One weird thing is that no matter what floor you want to go to, the elevator will always stop on the 6th floor where the hotel reception is located. At least the button to close the doors on the elevator works well!

Just landed in Japan and first stay is of course the heart of moe culture. The rooms are quite cozy to say the least. Can’t complain. It’s also quite conveniently located next to the Akihabara station. Free Crystal Geyser water! It’s like home away from home.
