What a great local find here in Vicenza. Sometimes you find a place when least expected and the Fuori Modena. They have both Italian and English menus so don’t worry about that. The small restaurant charm is also on display here. The owner made me feel welcome and was articulate enough to make sure I made the right choice. I went first with a parmesan gnocchi made from 36 months aged Parmesan and it was fantastic. The small puff pastry on top was unexpected but integral to the dish. Secondly was the spinach pasta with ragout. Again, a great simple pasta executed well with flavor to match. Finally was the local chocolate cake and citrus compote that is paired perfectly. I didn’t see anything on the menu I wouldn’t want to try if going again. With homemade bread and a good wine selection, I hope more people find this gem.
