Hotel Firenze is in a great location. It’s so close to the train station and also within walking distance to the center of town. The hotel is located on Corso Porta Nuova. This street is fairly busy with residences and lots of restaurants. What is great is that if you get a room with a balcony, then you can sit out, get some fresh air, and watch the cars go by. It’s very relaxing especially if you are sipping on some spritz! The rooms are a decent size, nicely decorated, and spacious enough. The rate is very fair and includes complimentary breakfast. Thumbing through the hotel books, we found interesting instructions on how to use the human car wash type shower. FYI– the water jets are not as powerful as you would think they should be. It was lame, but the options were well appreciated. Free candy and chocolates are everywhere in this hotel. If you are a fan of Baci, you will be ecstatic. The lights and balcony door are a little difficult to shut off and close. The main control unit is located near the table lamps. I figured this out after a very frustrating routine of switching on and off every light switch multiple times. The morning breakfast is excellent and may be one of the best free hotel breakfasts I have ever experienced. The cold meat selection is like a feast for a hundred people and they give Nutella in the cutest little individual packets. The fruit is ripe and delicious. I wish I stayed at this hotel more than one night but we were only passing through Verona for the day.

We arrived in Verona without reservations in the middle of July! The Hotel Firenze was the third place we tried and they were able to accommodate the five of us in two rooms. I believe this is a Best Western, but it seems impossible that this is the same Best Western that we see in the U.S. This was a very nice hotel with very nice rooms. The location was really good for us. There are plenty of restaurants and shops all up and down the main street. The train station is five minutes away. That is where we got a train to Venice, which took about an hour. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was typical European with fruits, eggs, meats and cheeses and pastry. I believe it is the middle of the big opera season so the place was packed and breakfast was a little tough because of all the people, but it was fine. Bottom line is the rooms were great. We felt safe in the hotel so we could get a relaxing rest every night. This is not your typical Best Western. I would definitely stay here again.
