Trattoria da Bepi

This was our first meal in Italy.
* Mussels in white wine sauce
* Pasta Carbonara
* Spinach/​Ricotta Ravioli
* ALL WONDERFUL
This is a small, delicate, family run restaurant and it shows. Caring service, clean, no service charge, indoor/​outdoor seating, we enjoyed this meal and would certainly return. The is very cost effective and happy. We give it ³⁄₅ boots

Scrumptious, delicious, decadent. Wow. Made my family trek over her due to Rick Steve’s suggestion. Difficult to find because it is a hidden treasure. We arrived shortly after they opened (7pm) and my family of 6 was seated outside.
The pasta with scampi… the scampi was cooked to perfection, nearly fell apart/​melted on my tongue and blended so well with the pasta. House wines were unbelievable.
Loris is the owner. Funny man, friendly and accommodating. He checked on us multiple times. Ask for the menu of the day if he doesn’t tell you. Order from it, or just tell him to pick his favorites!
Best food I’ve had in all of Italy– including Florence, Rome, towns of Tuscany.

And the prices are so low for the quality and experience at Da Bepi.

Another Rick Steve’s recommendation and this was pretty good. The pasta was nice and spicy, the fish was fresh and flavorful, and the house red wine was delicious and incredibly cheap. Its a pretty spacious place and I can only hope that is why the service time was so painfully long.

We found this restaurant per the recommendation of our tour book and I’m glad that we found it. This place is not on any major street or close to any major attractions so it was a bit challenging to find but we did it.
Food was great as it was the service. My hubby ordered what he called the best seafood pasta he’d ever had (and believe me he’s not a seafood eater) and I had a traditional fried calamari (sorry I had a craving). During our dinner there was an accordion street performer that played while we ate which added an incredible ambiance to our meal. I felt as if we were in a romantic Italian film =)
After dinner (around 2130) we ventured in a gondola ride which we got at a discounted rate because it was already late and the last one of the day for our gondolier.

Friendly enough welcome and prompt service were the only highlights of our visit. We had failed to find the restaurant we were looking for and this one was full so we thought it must be good — we were wrong! My spaghetti vongole was not good — clams that had obviously come straight from a tin, (no shells and vinegary flavour) my partners penne with a tomato sauce was extremely bland, for ‘secondi’ I had a reasonable fried mixed fish and my partner had the worst example I have ever seen of grilled salmon! The salmon had been steaked, obviously frozen and the cooking had rendered it the texture of cardboard the only flavour was from the burnt — charred would be too mild — surfaces that had been under the grill way too long.
We didn’t risk a dessert and the bill was not huge but considering the quality represented bad value for money. Perhaps we were unlucky but I would avoid ever going there again.
