I found myself unexpectedly in Venice with no time to research a restaurant. Pleasantly, I found this small gem within the Hotel Splendid. The Spaghetti Mare was perfectly al dente with fresh clams, mussels, and shrimp. It was a light wine based red sauce that excited my palate. The Crab Penne was nearly perfect– only a few pieces of cartilage were in the way of a perfect dish. Otherwise, small buttery crab pieces were interlaced with short tubes of pasta for a divine mix. The Tiramisu was appropriately rich with a faint aftertaste of orange liquor. I would definitely end the meal with this dessert again. Highly recommended– they are great for tourists and locals alike.

One must be careful of hotel restaurants but this place seems exceptional. Very good food, but not fantastic as can be the case in Venice. Service seemed a bit distracted and choppy.
