This place faces Piazza Ponterosso and the Canal Grande. It means it’s located in a typical touristic area and… it shows. The service is not bad at all, but less personal than in the rest of Trieste. The prices are a bit high, not crazy, butthe value quality-price is a bit lower than average in Trieste. They seem to do a better job with pizza than other things, but even one of the pizza we had was, once again, okay, but nothing to remember. Expect a longer than average wait: the place is often packed due to its location. I had the scaloppine and it was qa very disappointing dish: obviously rehated, lack of taste, even the meat quality wasn’t too good. It’s a classic situation of an Italian restaurant in an area full with tourists: people will go anyway, so there isn’t much pressure on them to please. Now, I don’t want to mislead: it’s not bad at all. But, in a city like Trieste, there are plenty of better options when it comes to food and prices.

We ate here today because we were starved and were told it is the only restaurant open at 4pm, a time when all restaurants are normally closed. Anyway, the Caprese pizza was fine, but the scampi were mushy. Prices stiff especially for the scampi. Nobody cared that we left the food on the plate. Stick to pizza is my suggestion, or look elsewhere.
