Hilton Garden Inn Milan Malpensa Hotel

Located near Milan’s Malpensa Airport. This Hilton family hotel has all the amenities of a Hilton. The staff is courteous, rooms and common areas are fine, but he hallways and the entrance is a bit unattended and the hallway carpets are very dirty.

15 minutes drive from Milano Malpensa Airport with hotel free shuttle every hour on the top of the hour leaving hotel. Better call to confirm.
From terminal #1 you go to «level –1» and walk out toward the street side through parking deck to the train/​tram station and walk through the automatic door with big «Sheraton» sign which will lead you through the hotel lobby to their front door. That’s where the free shuttle from Hilton Garden Inn picks up their guests. Driver is most friendly. I saw him mowing the lawn later in the hotel yard.
The staff are all very friendly. The room offers electric kettle, tea bags, and instant coffee. Nice bedding, sufficient bath towels and toiletries as Hilton chains’ standard.
Complimentary (may not for everyone) is pretty basic. But hey, coffee, juice and fresh croissants are all I need.
Surprised to see so many guests in such an early morning hour having breakfast when we got to the dining area. Then we saw several tour bus parked outside which explained why.
Overall, good choice for the night before catching morning flight.

When we arrived at the hotel after a drive from Venice they said they couldn’t find any reservation for the three different rooms we booked with three different reservations. The lady at the reception seemed extremely confused. My daughter had gotten car sick and desperately needed to be cleaned off, but it took the woman almost an hour to finally find our reservations and get us sorted out.
After we got to our rooms, we asked about getting a cab to go to a nearby restaurant. The cab she ordered was VERY expensive for the five minute drive. Even though that was the case we didn’t know how to get back to the hotel and decided to call him to get us to go back. He said he would be there in 10 or 15 minutes and never showed up. We finally decided to walk back — about a 20 minute walk — and that was much better so we were glad he never showed.
The restaurant had decent food — not bad for a hotel restaurant — and service was pretty good. That was a really good thing for us because we had a not so great experience going to lunch in the area and didn’t want to venture away again for dinner.
For the price (we paid about $ 50 per room through American Airlines) the place is not bad.

This hotel is okay and is close to the airport with a shuttle service. The restaurant food is awful and I would cringe if I had to eat there again. We chose eating breakfast at the airport over eating their breakfast. The airport has way better food. I would probably choose the Sheraton or another hotel near the airport if I had to

For those who don’t care to stay in airport hotels, this small hotel is about 15 minutes outside of Milan Malpensa airport in a town called Somma Lombardo. When you arrive, call them and they will send a shuttle to pick you up. Our room was nice, clean and bathroom is modern. There is a bar and restaurant, which they say is good. We opted to dine at il Castigo instead (see my review) and they were kind to drive us there.

Auch wenn der Hotelname ein «Hilton» enthält, sollte man sich nichts vormachen: Das Hotel ist einer der schlichten, anonymen Schlafbunker unweit eines Großflughafens außerhalb der Stadt gelegen.
Man kann hier schlafen (Betten für europäische Verhältnisse eher sehr kurz), Sport machen (ich habe das Gym aus Zeitmangel nicht ausprobiert, soll aber gut sein) und auch was essen (eher einfache Küche). Hauptargument für das Hotel ist aber sicherlich die kurze Fahrzeit (~10min) zum Terminal am Flughafen Malpensa.
Viel mehr zu sagen gibt es eigentlich nicht. Die WLAN-​Voucher waren nicht nur kostenlos sondern auch umsonst, da das WLAN überwiegend nicht funktionierte und wenn dann auch nur sehr langsam. Dies war auch im Zimmer mit LAN-​Kabel leider nicht besser.
