First of all Soave is a very small town between Vicenza and Verona with only a handful of restaurants within or close to the picturesque old town. The Enoteca Realdo is located within a bulky hotel complex and the only modern venue in town, which explains the hype about the place to me. We tried to eat at the enoteca twice and both times had a bad experience with the staff and the way they treated us. The first time we went there, the kitchen was still closed(opens at 7:30pm) and we were told to return an hour later while about 6 other guests were eating at the table next to us and were served wine… At our second trial was two days later. We arrived after 8pm and were told no tables are available. This caught us by surprise since 80% of the tables were empty and people were eating and drinking in the enoteca again. Both times we were running into super arrogant staff although we stayed friendly and even started the conversation in Italian. In summary a very displeasing experience and the reason I rather recommend«Enoteca El Drago» in old town or «Pizzeria Scagliera» next door where you can be sure to be greeted warmly and feel welcome! — Unprofessional service, — not recommended!
