We stumbled upon this place late night and didn’t have many options so we decided to give Da Nino a try because there was a TripAdvisor sticker on the front. We ordered a salmon alfredo fettucini and a scallopini in white wine sauce. They brought out a basket of dry bread which didn’t look appealing so we didn’t touch it. The salmon was decent but I was not a fan of the scallopini. Something just tasted off about it but then again it was my first time trying such a dish. Overall the food was not terrible. It was just late, we were hungry, and it served the purpose of feeding us. When the bill came out there was a € 4 charge for the bread. When I asked about it, the waiter said it was NOT for bread but for the service(even though the bill says pane). The two stars is because I’m not Italian but am confident I can cook a better tasting dish, service was meh, and the pricing seemed steep and confusing.

Los spaguetti boloñesa estaban muy buenos. La pizza no estaba mal, pero en roma se encuentran mejores. Un poco caro, pero la atencion muy simpatica. No entienden español. La tarta de queso si más. Y los panes abundantes pero. los covra y no preguntan antes.

We stumbled across this restaurant when I couldn’t find the one I really wanted to go to. I wish I read the reviews on this place before walking in. Maybe my expectations were too high since I was so excited to eat in Rome. It was expensive, the service was okay, and the food was definitely not good. The bread basket was good. They charge you a service charge, so you may as well eat the bread. If you want waiter, learn how to say«tap water» in Italian, or else(like many other places) they bring you a bottle of purified water.

Yet another place where they shove things on the table, you don’t touch them, then they overcharge you for them. Travel tip: if they put bread on your table, send it back immediately! Otherwise you’ll pay 3+ Euro per person for it! Same thing with the water, you might order tap water, as I did, but they open a mineral water and just plunk it down on the table. Waiter was lucky I don’t want to be put in Italian jail. The food was good, however. Very family oriented and obviously run by a local family. I would not eat here again. Just seemed to be another tourist trap.

Via Merluna has a quite a few decent restaurants with fair prices. We went to Da Nino for dinner. Dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine was $ 45 Euro. The food all tasted good. Pizza, pasta and a vegetarian soup were the majority of our order and it was all good, though not spectacular. The bread basket was better than most. The crowd was mixed between tourists and locals and the staff was friendly. If I was in the neighborhood and hungry, I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again, though it wouldn’t be a planned destination.
