Warning– this is a long and detailed review for anxious travelers like myself. Scroll to the last paragraph if you want the summary. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Park Junior Hotel. We were visiting Venice for a few days and were looking for a cheap but nice hotel. I soon discovered that those two things don’t coexist on actual Venice island. I started looking for a hotel on the mainland and my research lead me to Hotel Park Junior. I was able to get a double standard size room with a fluffy bed(the best we had on our two week tour of Italy) for 63 euros a night, which included a full breakfast. We arrived by train and pre-arranged a pick up time with the hotel using their shuttle for 1 euro. I was glad this was prearranged because the train station was very dark when we arrived at 8pm and was only self-service, so it would have been difficult getting help had it not been pre-arranged. But when we arrived the shuttle was there waiting with the doors open and driver to greet us. The hotel was about a 5 minute drive from the train station, but I can’t imagine walking it with luggage. The hotel is definitely more in a country setting so would be difficult to find on your own. Each day we utilized their shuttle to get to the train station and ride into Venice. The train to Venice was very cheap, ran often, and was a pretty ride. It was maybe a 30 minute ride but worth the money that we saved. Once it arrived at the main station in Venice we were able to immediately start sight-seeing by foot or by hopping on a vaporetto(city bus) boats. It was very convenient. We would always pre-arrange our return trip pick up time with the hotel and the shuttle was always there waiting for us. We were very impressed and thankful the hotel offered such an easy service. Even though it required a bit of time it was by far the easiest transportation arrangement we had when visiting Italy. It can be difficult to figure out their various public transportation options! Hotel check in was seamless and we were quickly guided to our room. The entire hotel seems to be very dated but has been renovated and is very nice. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The wifi in the lobby and breakfast room was strong, but unfortunately very weak in our room. Our room had some dated décor but also some very modern touches. We had a nice patio and the room was very spacious, even the bathroom. I am not really an economy hotel type person, so I was a bit nervous but was pleasantly surprised. It was a great value for the price and we were happy with it. The staff was very hospitable and accommodating. I was initially impressed by my email correspondence with them to book my hotel and arrange the pick up from the train station. They were always quick to respond, polite, and had decent English. The first night we arrived we asked if they had a microwave to reheat some food and the front desk host was very accommodating by heating our food for in their kitchen. They were always happy to answer any questions for us and eager to help. We were definitely impressed. The breakfast is also worth mentioning. Most Italian hotels offer some kind of breakfast, but sometimes it is simply coffee with a pastry. The breakfast at Park Junior was a huge spread and had everything from eggs, potatoes, and breakfast meats to pastries and fruit. It was very nice for an Italian continental breakfast. Breakfast was served in their big common room that was beautifully decorated and full of sunshine. We loved dining in there. A big selling point for this hotel for me was the free shuttle to the airport(which seems to be an occasional special they run but not a regular offering). We needed to leave at 5am and the driver was waiting when we emerged from our room. He helped with our bags and made sure we were dropped off at the right location at the airport. The shuttle saved us a huge expense and the airport was only about a 15 minute drive away. I would definitely stay here again if ever returning to Venice and plan to recommend it to all my travelling friends. If you are looking for somewhere cheap, but nice with transfers to the airport this is your place. 5 stars all the way.

This hotel was the best hotel we stayed at during our recent trip to Italy. Fantastic experience. The staff were attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. They even went out of their way to make the two teen boys comfortable during our stay, and they also assisted in ordering a birthday cake for my son and arranging his birthday dinner at their on-site restaurant. The rooms were to die for … absolutely fantastic. The beds were luxurious and the rooms were huge even by US standards. Although they only offered a king-sized bed option, we had no complaints throughout our entire stay(5 days). The train station isn’t within walking distance but the hotel does offer a shuttle to the station upon request. We had a car so this wasn’t such a big deal, yet it’s a great service. The town is a wonderful example of a small Italian village. They had most everything one would need or want, there was even a circus(small), a great option for families with small children. They hotel went all out everyday for breakfast, fresh fruit, meats and pastries. The coffee and hot chocolate were the best we had the entire time in Italy. The pool wasn’t my idea of great fun, but the boys seemed to enjoy it on at least one very hot Italian summer afternoon. Venice is about a 40 minute train ride away and the hotel has discount tickets if you ask.
