Ciao! I’m an American who owns a place about thirty minutes away on Lake Trasimeno; I’ll write this in English(since Perugians already know this is a consistently great place to go — especially relative to cost.) I’ve been there alone after missing a train, and with groups of friends, and it’s an easy place to hang out. For starters, it’s got a warm, lively atmosphere. Second, I’m from NorCali, so organic and fresh is high on my list — even the house wine is organic, but there’s a wine list with regular selections, too. The veggie platters are yummy(or normal dishes that happen to be veggie/vegan) but you can also get a nice fat steak, mixed grill, that kind of thing. Awesome desserts. It IS down a long flight of stone steps but c’mon, that didn’t stop moms w/baby strollers! You have to descend again once inside; not wheelchair accessible but I’m sure they do take-out.

A recommander chaudement !

The restaurant is about 100 stair steps below the city, but it was well worth the descent and even the return ascent. I ordered the tagliatelle with radicchio and truffle. It was the best meal I had during my nearly 3 week visit in Italy. We had chocolate panne cotta for dessert and it was one of the most delicious desserts I have ever had. The lighting and the atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect.
