Best Ravioli in Monterosso, and the whole grilled fish of the day was simply perfect. The owner and his wife were super nice, service was exzellent. The only bad thing was, that we went there for the first time on our last evening, so we could not return for more on this trip.

4 points for great service and good food. People sitting around me are all tourists. They are Italian diners here as well. Would recommend u to make reservation cause it’s quite popular.

Our second meal at Cantina was just as great as the first! For or first meal we had the squid pasta and the line caught fish. The pasta was delicious and a fun texture with the curly pasta. The fish was cooked perfectly and came with amazing slightly mashed potatoes and broccoli. We had the house white wine which is slightly effervescent. For dessert we had the lemon sorbet which is nice and creamy yet tart. Given we are in Monterosso we also shared the lemon torte and wow, get it! The service was fabulous and the right amount of attentiveness plus willingness to share tips of the area. For a post hike lunch we had the baccalao and the calamari. The baccalao came with the most amazing red sauce I’ve tasted and the fish was cooked to be perfectly soft. The calamari was some of the best ever especially since you just have fresh squeezed lemon and honestly no desire to dunk it in mayo! It also comes with fried zucchini slices which were a nice twist. We ended with the lemon sorbet mixed with prosecco and vodka, yum! Trust me, you will want to be sure to dine at Cantina. They also take reservations for their indoor dining room for the evenings.

We loved the farinata– chickpea/garbanzo bean flour fried squares –and bruschetta, pesto lasagna, and salad so much that we ate here over and over again while visiting the area! Great food, view, service. vegan options! Service and price were great and you can’t beat the location!

We stopped here while walking through Monterosso because we wanted a bottle of wine – to go! The greatness of Italy is that you can walk with open beverages anywhere. The service here was excellent although I think the guy manning the bar was a little confused at first, but we managed to get an old bottle filled with what I assume to be their sparkling white wine, and plastic cups. It was fabulous!

I really only have one thing to say about Cantina di Miky: I had dinner two nights in a row here and had the same thing. I have literally never done that in my entire life. I just loved the Spaghetti al Mare. The location is gorgeous, right on the beach. The service seemed to be for Americans. Or maybe they are just nicer here. But the food is all Cinque Terre. Pesto, seafood, wine. Yes. This place was just perfect to me. Great atmosphere, amazing food and wine, awesome service. I have no more adjectives!

GREAT pesto lasagna, weak drinks, friendly server, in a beautiful area next to the beach. We were visiting the area for three days and ended up returning here a second night for the food after having drinks elsewhere.

This restaurant is right on the beach of Monterosso. On a really hot day we actually opted to sit downstairs instead where there’s a cool bar and a very good local microbrew selection. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. I probably had the best pasta on our trip to Italy here and I cannot for the life of me remember the name. It was a special listed, handwritten, on the first page of the menu. Hopefully it’s still there if anyone wants to try it. We also tried the seafood spaghetti which was also good.

We had an amazing meal here after a great day on the beach. Once you exit the train, this restaurant is located directly to your right. The seafood and ambiance was amazing. Definitely relax and enjoy, the Cinque Terra moves a little slower :)

First off, the location is amazing. Right on the beach near the train station in new town Monterosso, so it’s impossible to miss. The décor is nice and without knowing anything about it it’s one of the best looking places on the beach. I ordered a Cantina Spritz(which was amazing) and then had a few glasses of wine. Two of us split an appetizer of focaccia with olive oil, olive spread, and pesto — it was so delicious I probably could have been content with that. For my main course I ordered the pesto lasagna as it was the only vegetarian option I saw aside from sandwiches or salads, but it was very good. Cinque Terre is famous for its pesto so it was a good option. It seems like every dish I saw brought out looked spectacular. Service was great too — much better than what you’re used to in Italy.

They didn’t want our business… twice! We learn slowly. . First visit. Four of us visited at 3pm one day for a beer. We were greeted and encouraged to sit at a table. We told the waitress that we were interested in a drink as the sign outside boasted a large selection of craft beers. She then asked someone in Italian and we were told we could not sit at that table and just drink. We were crammed into a small place that was uncomfortable and told we couldn’t spread out a bit to a small table adjoining as that was ‘for eating’. As we sat uncomfortably and drank a beer, we noted the first table nor the small adjoining table never had any customers. In fact, the whole restaurant was emptying of the lunch crowd and no new customers came in while we were there. Second trip We should have taken that first trip as a clue but we wanted to give the place a second chance as we liked the beer. Two of us arrived at 6:30, well before the dinner crowd. We were not allowed to sit anywhere out of the wind and cold as all the tables were ‘for eating’. We were quickly sat and almost ignored. Finally someone asked what we would like. We ordered only to find out the keg blew and they didn’t have time to connect a new one! We got up and left. We did note that two young women came and we heard them say they were only drinking wine. Guess what? They were escorted in to a table. Two old guys spent our 50 euros down the street… as we ended up eating there as well. Our response to the waitress: You obviously are not aware that we did«choose» to try and sit indoors in the bar, but we were clearly told by a waiter that we could not sit there and outside was the only place. He sat us at the table and was getting us a menu when you came by. We asked about a particular beer and you said that one beer was the only double ipa on tap. Then you walked outside. That WASNOTTAKINGANORDERANDINDUCEDMYIGNOREDSTATEMENT. We then finally got the attention of the waiter and ordered from him. We had no idea that you had laid claim to us and that a statement like yours constituted an order. If so, I suggest something like«I’ll get them for you» and head in the direction of the bar rather than outside. Second, there were two women drinking wine who were escorted downstairs just as three women sat in the same spot. This all happened when you were outside and while we were interacting with the waiter. Third, we knew this was a busy time and came to your more casual«bar» rather than your more fancy restaurant just down the street. But again, we felt like you did not want us there. We would likely have stayed for dinner had we been welcomed. Finally, we did NOT say he sucked. Although my friend may have said«this sucks». We are not at all like that.

Place was such a good find. I had read about it on Unilocal but didn’t know it would be even better than the reviews had said. This was hands down the best seafood meal I have had in a very long time, amazing spaghetti and mussles. The service was great and the wine was great, will have to come back here someday!!!

Only had the pesto lasagna but it was fantastic. Pesto is famously from Lingua so that would make sense, but the lasagna itself kinda just melts in your mouth. I’m usually leery of restaurants off the beach due to it’s potential for overcharging for low quality food but wasn’t the case here. Grab a seat on the esplanade and I can’t think of a better place this side of Hawaii to have a meal.

This little cantina is also owned by the fancier version just a stones throw away also called Miky. Don’t be alarmed if you are seated and your server doesn’t come back for 20 minutes. In fact, I would suggest getting a drink while they are seating you because there’s no rush here in this cantina. The food is probably one of the best spots in monterroso. The calamari is awesome and washes down nicely with a liter of house wine(for just about € 13 for the wine). If this is your first dinner in cinque terre, don’t be alarmed when there is a € 2 table charge per person. Every restaurant adds it. Beats paying tax and tip! We’ll be back Miky!

This is the more casual and affordable version of a well-reputed, long-running restaurant. We sat in the courtyard/garden area, which was peaceful and quiet. We tried the stuffed, fried anchovies, which are a local specialty: they were surprisingly delicious. My husband got the pesto pasta, and I ordered the branzino. Service was great, with the waitress even asking if everything was okay, somewhat of a rarity for Italy.(There were two large pieces of fish in my entrée, and I was full after the first one.) Good choice.

Get ready for some attitude. The food was just okay and the staff all seemed like they were having a terrible day. We did not feel welcome at all.

We were in Monterosso on our honeymoon. After two weeks in Tuscany, we wanted some good Ligurian cuisine with pesto and seafood so we came here. There are three seating areas. One inside, one in the garden, and then one right on the beach. We sat on the beach and the view is amazing. The wait staff all speaks English and most of the diners are American or Australian. The food is great. My favorite was the stuffed anchovies, trofie with pesto, and the fried calamari. They have a lovely wine list with wines from the Cinque Terre and Tuscany as well as lots of beers and cocktails. The food was so good we went back another night for dinner. Once again a good meal, but their sangria is a bit weak. All in all a good find.

My wife and I went to La Cantina di Miky after reading some reviews and strolling looking at the restaurants on the beach. We went here for lunch. Views were incredible. The food was great, some of the best we had while in Italy. My wife had the Pesto Lasagna and I had the Seafood Spaghetti, both were fantastic, exactly what we were looking for. I love craft beer, so I it was a nice surprise that they had quite the Italian craft beer menu.
