Try the Ravioli with Walnut sauce – a deliciously light, butter or olive oil-based sauce that really compliments rather than covers the fresh spinach & cheese-filled half moon-shaped raviolis. Finally, something different than the traditional tomato and pesto sauces! My husband had the Ravioli Bolognese, which was chock full of meat chunks, just the way he likes it. Both were cooked perfectly al dente and were reasonably priced at € 6 – 8 each for lunch. Great selection of veggie side dishes too. We had the stuffed peppers and green beans, which came in generous side portions. Although these could have been warmed up a bit more, overall, everything was delicious!

It’s small place with some sitting inside and outside. We went to this place based on trip advisory reviews. Tried the linguine with pesto(overall alright but the amount of pesto in it was very minimal) and the pepperdelle pasta with zucchini and sundried tomatoes(was alright I was definitely expecting better). The good took at least 20 mins to come even though we ordered takeout and it wasn’t crazy busy. I was a little disappointed with flavor.

After finding many of the other places in Monterosso bland and/or overpriced we stumbled into Gastromonia San Martino. What a lucky break. This place was awesome. Large portions of delicious food and very reasonable prices. It is different than a normal Italian restaurant. You order at the counter and pick an open spot to sit down. Once the food is ready they bring it out to you. That is it. It was our favorite place we ate in the Cinque Terre.
