We were surrounded by locals here, and there is a very good reason for it. The house wine is inexpensive and tasty. We started off with crostini and cold cuts that were great and Tuscan staples. My wife had the gnocchi and shrimp and was out of this world, and I had the porcini mushroom ravioli and was excellent as well. We did a seasonal side salad and enjoyed the fresh ingredients. We finished off dinner with two of the best desserts of our Italy trip. The chocolate cake was rich and flavorful, and the crème caramel(dulce de leche) blew me right off my seat. Prices were extremely reasonable for this gem of a restaurant.

It’s May and this place is a few blocks away. Much quieter being off the strip. It looks like there in no cover charge but the service charge is included. Food was good. I had the arrabbiata which had just enough spice and then the Greek salad. Great stuff.

Just had the most perfect meal in italy. The grilled lamb, the steak, and the spaghetti alla arrabiatta… the the tiramisu MUST be had several times if possible. Order anything. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

This was a first class meal, top notch service, food, and dessert. The Raviloli Augratin, splendid. The Fillet in Cognac sauce? Exemplary! The Tiermasu? Perfect! Wine selection and table side service also excellent.

Their florentine steak is quite good! Their € 30 menu with cold cuts platter, florentine steak, potatoes and a glass of Chianti is such a great deal! There’s a lot of food included and it’s probably better for two people to share it, with an additional main plate. The florentine steak is cooked to rare if you don’t specify. Be careful if you like your steak cooked medium.

This was one of our favorite restaurants that we went to in Italy! The food is scrumptious and fairly priced. The ambience is romantic and welcoming and the service is fantastic. We got the veal chops and a pasta with a parmesan crust. Both were absolutely delicious. The portions are so big and we could not even finish our plates. We tried to go here again for a lunch, but unfortunately had a train to catch. Next time we go to Florence, we will most certainly visit again!

This was our first restaurant we ate at in Florence — it was nothing short of delicious. We had the onion soup, chicken liver pâté, beef carpaccio, blue cheese ravioli & the wild boar ravioli. Everything had rich flavor and nothing disappointed! The soup had lots of onions and a piece of(garlic?) Bread in it — well balanced flavour. The beef carpaccio came with salad on it, we squeezed some lemon on it with olive oil and it tasted very fresh. The raviolis. Both were awesome. I love blue cheese — & they did not overwhelm the blue cheese ravioli with blue cheese. I also had a delicious Bellini here. The server was a little short/inattentive, but not flat out rude. They also include the tip built into the check, which was different. We will definitely go back a couple times before we leave!

Gilda was our waitress, she took care of us 2 nights. She’s very kind, her English was excellent, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place, when we came across other Americans, we sent them there too. It’s hard to find a decent restaurant in Florence, believe it or not! Grazie Gilda!

Came to Florence on vacation, and I must say, thst this has been the best restaurant I’ve been to so far. The service was typical Italian style but they were very attentive and brought everything we requested. Went there for lunch, had the Gli spaghetti all’arrabbiata(spaghetti with garlic tomato and hot chily), and it tasted just like what I make at home. For dessert, I had the La torta della nonna and I must say, it was the best dessert I have ever had. Later in the day, I went back for dinner, and had one of the best pizzas in Florence. Their Margarita pizza was amazing. The tomatoe sauce was light while the cheese and basil were rich in flavor. The pizza crust was thick yet light and chewy, with the right combination of a crusty outside and soft inside. They have a great house white wine and the prices are inexpensive for the amazing quality of food. I highly recommend this restaurant as to me it’s a hidden gem among a thriving tourist city.

A great place to get a tasty and inexpensive bite to eat. Our driver recommended this restaurant for pizza and we were not disappointed. At 7 € for a pizza margherita that was large enough for two to share, we were all surprised at how affordable and delicious the food was at this restaurant. Service was ok. I wouldn’t say they were friendly but they got the job done. As Florence was 99 degrees on the day we visited, sitting in the outdoor area full of cooling misters was greatly appreciated. Plus it was a great spot for people watching.

Service is beyond bad and the food is mediocre at best. Don’t bother. Had onion soup and it looked good but was bland. My companion had the special and it was just average. Certainly not worthy of the great posts.

Nice place, with decent food. I was expecting a little better though. I had the Spaghetti Frutti di Mare, which was spaghetti with different seafood. Thought it was good, but could’ve been better. Also had the Cream Caramel(flan) for dessert, and I didn’t care for it. I was expecting better service since this was a nice restaurant. They also have a bar/club next door, and the music was super loud next to where we were seating.

My wife and I ate here and loved it. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was the best Italian food we had in all of Italy. The price was great and the service was great. The Florence steak at the table next to us looked amazing and was so big two people could eat it. Worth a visit

A great little restaurant. The staff are lovely, great food and well priced. Would highly recommend the melanzane alla parmigiana. A lovely dish to really warm you up when it’s cold outside!

My wife and I wanted a lighter lunch that would not taste ordinary. We sure found our place. Our waitress was kind and the food was great. We had a wonderful ravioli with sage dish and a well prepared and refreshing caprese salad. Just would have wished for basil on the salad and then this would have been a 5 star review.

After a day of art and historical gossip, we were ready to sit down to a nice meal. Thank you fellow Unilocalers for pointing me to this great restaurant that is quite close our hotel. We both started with bruschetta… How can you not when tomatoes taste so fabulous here in Italy? I followed with grilled lamb and it was perfect. Tasted like it had come off a good Aussie barbecue. Just what I needed after a week of pasta, pizza and scallopine. She had the scallopinne with lemon and gave it a high score. For service: I asked for our meal to be relaxed as we were in no hurry. It was nicely spaced with a good gap before main course for us to people watch. I asked for their recommended Chianti half bottle and it is drinking nicely. I note that this was the less expensive of the options. I’ll give it four stars. Why only four? I reserve five stars for excellence at a silver service venue. Come along! If you don’t love it you are very hard to please :-)

We came here after a long day of walking on the Labour Day, and were happy that this restaurant with good rating was open. We started our dinner with onion soup, which was delicious but not heavy(no cheese). We had grilled lamb and steak for entrée which were both tasty. The steak with mushroom was very tender. Food came fast compared to those restaurants we tried at Rome. Staff were okay. Price was on the high side but guess it’s about the range for this food quality at tourist areas.

After being very put off by the aggressive hosts outside the restaurants in Republic Square, we headed for the back alleys in search of lunch. We ran across this little place, took a gander at the menu, and settled into an outdoor table. Our lunch of mineral water(frizzante, of course), Chianti, and homemade pasta was fantastic. I had a beautiful and rich spaghetti carbonara while my partner had a lovely homemade parpadelle with hare ragu. The food was excellent, the prices quite reasonable compared to other places in the area(we paid under € 30 for two mains, a couple glasses of wine, and a bottle of mineral water). Our only real complaint was that the service was painfully slow. Other tables seemed to be getting much speedier service, so your mileage may vary. It was probably just our waiter and not the restaurant as a whole. Definitely worth seeking out if you want a nice lunch near the centre without the gross, aggressive atmosphere of the main squares.
