Grand Hotel Cavour

Amazing!!! Incredible location in the heart of the city. Elegant. Rooms are small but similar to something you would expect in New York. Gorgeous reception and friendly staff. Great exercise room with painted ceilings while you bench waits lol. The breakfast was included and had many options. We are vegan and there was plenty for unto choose from. We would definitely stay here again! Within walking distance to everything including the Duomo.

Talk about Renaissance Flair. This hotel is exactly what I imagined a place in Florence, Italy would look like. The hotel matches its surroundings, in that it’s literally breathes history. Every accent, color, and piece of furniture used in this place adds to its «Old-​World» appeal. Our hotel room was even equipped with a Shakespearean balcony (swoon). The Grand Hotel Cavour is perfect for people looking for a great hotel in the center of Florence. It’s walking distance away from some of Firenze’s best attractions, such as the Boboli Gardens, Ponte Vecchio, and Il Duomo. Their rooftop bar has the most magnificent view of Florence, with Il Duomo standing gloriously right in front of your eyes. They have a delicious breakfast every morning, featuring a plethora of delicious regional foods. Also has very attentive staff.
I wish I could snap my fingers and transport back to this wonderful place.

There is good news and bad news about this hotel
First, the good news. The hotel is located near the city center, so it was convenient to walk to several sightseeing locations, as well as restaurants and plaza. And the staff was pleasant and mostly helpful.
Now the bad new, WE WERE ROBBED AT THIS HOTEL!!! Please be careful. We were traveling with a group of 9 people. We had 5 separate rooms on 3 different floors.
On the last night of our stay at the Hotel Cavour, 6 of the 9 people in our group went to dinner at a nearby restaurant. While we were gone, an intruder attempted to gain access to all 5 of our rooms. Three of the rooms were empty, the occupants were having dinner, and their rooms were robbed. Mostly iPhones and laptops. The intruder entered a fourth room, but unfortunately, a male guest was still in that room. So the intruder ran off. And for the fifth room, he actually knocked on the door, where 2 ladies were still in their room (they did not go to dinner), so he left.
That night, the hotel manager told us not to do anything and they would have their hotel security look into it. They did nothing the next morning. We went to the police station to file a robbery report. The hotel manager pretended to be nice and said they would reimburse for some of the cost of the stolen iPhones and laptop.
Bottom line, after we returned to the United States, the hotel manager ignored my calls and emails. They did not reimburse us for any items. And their actions at the hotel would even suggest that somebody at the front desk gave the Robber our room information. How did the Intruder find all 5 of our rooms that were on THREE different floors? Just luck? I don’t think so! The hotel knew we were checking out the next day and they asked us not to worry about anything. But they did nothing and had no plans to do anything.
Please be very careful if you use this hotel!!!

The hotel, staff, and bars were simply delightful. From the lobby to the rooms the décor is comfortable and welcoming. My room was clean, comfortable, and generally quiet. The staff at the desk, in the restaurant, and on the rooftop bar were accommodating and friendly.
It would be nice if they didn’t close the only full service bar in the hotel for private functions without an alternative. Even with that, Cavour is a hotel that is well located and very pleasant at which to stay. I’d happily return.

The place is nice, free wifi and free breakfast. The rooms are very close to each other and the walls are thin. You can hear absolutely everything. It is beautiful tho. Overall a great place with a very central location!

Mira, quitando lo de la primera noche lo demás muy bien. Y sobre lo de la primera noche, por ser algo especial y puntual hablaré luego, primero vamos con las características.
Me parece importante saber que tienen varios tipos de habitaciones y lo que ofrece cada tipo de habitación para poder escoger la que más se adecúe a las necesidades. Yo, que me he pasado varios día allí opté por una en la que después de 4 días aún estuviera a gusto y me decidí por una «superior room». Mal hecho. La superior no es tan «superior» para lo que yo esperaba y si no me llegan a hacer un upgrade a la «deluxe» pues… en fin, como mejor que no.
El hotel es ¿cómo definirlo? ¿dual? ¿esquizoide? a ver, que el hall es impresionante, con ese bar también precioso y esa hora del aperitivo todo con bien de glamour pero, ay, luego, dependiendo de la planta en la que te encuentres pues así se ven cosas más o menos chulas. Lo que sí que es cierto es que hay que andarse con ojo y mapa y plano en cada piso para averiguar, primero, dónde está la habitación y, más tarde, para recordar cómo llegar a ella. Porque no es fácil y no hay indicaciones.
El hotel tiene una ventaja enorme y es su situación en pleno absoluto centro de Florencia y tiene aún otra ventaja genial y es una terraza maravillosa que, si bien es pequeña, te dejará boquiabierto y te proporcionará encuadres geniales para el Instagram. Los cócteles no son tan buenos, podían mejorar este aspecto.
Probablemente repita este hotel en próximas visitas, porque también me gusta que en la terraza no haya wifi y así me pueda concentrar en desarrollar tareas para los que la concentración sin distracción es muy necesaria. Y porque el entorno es precioso. Y porque está muy bien de precio.
Ah, que no he contado lo de la primera noche… ya. Bueno, pensemos en una excursión de niñas adolescentes prepúberes y alguna ya más que púber hiper borrachas corriendo desde las 2 de la mañana en adelante por toda la planta del hotel y llamándose a gritos las unas a las otras mientras golpean las puertas. Al final salí y les dí cuatro gritos en inglés. Lástima. Al día siguiente descubrí que eran españolas.
En fin, gracias a esto me subieron a una habitación deluxe y se deshicieron en disculpas.

La terraza del bar es maravillosa, y las vistas sobre Florencia son de esas capaces de quitarte absolutamente hasta la respiración, rollo que te quedas sin aire al minuto de entrar allí. ¡Qué cosa tan deliciosa! El bar que hay abajo es bien fresquito, y además preparan un café frío que te va a FASCINAR.
Dejando eso a un lado, y centrándonos en el tema del hotel en sí, diré que está céntrico, pero que tiene algunos puntos que deberían mejorar. Eso de tener que devolver las llaves es un poco antediluviano, no os lo voy a negar. Y encima vienen con una especie de llavero que pesa un quintal, para que no te los lleves. ¿Habrán oído hablar de las tarjetas magnéticas? ¡Hola siglo XXI!
Sin embargo lo más fascinante fue que, al llegar a mi planta no había (o yo no la vi, y la busqué) ninguna indicación de hacia dónde ir. Y sé que pensaréis: «qué pejiguero, pues hacia un lado o hacia otro». Cierto. Pero es que había pasillos y más pasillos, algunos con pequeños tramos de escaleras incluso, y era difícil saber dónde estaba tu habitación. Una pequeña indicación no hace daño a nadie, la verdad.
La habitación estaba limpia, y tenía un tamaño aceptable para un hotel europeo (que siempre va a ser pequeño para los americanos). Es decir, había una cama enorme, un escritorio, un armario, un minibar y el baño. Tampoco te hace falta mucho más, ¿no? Yo personalmente le habría cambiado la decoración, porque era todo bien rosa y bien femenino, pero es un pequeño detalle, y cuestión –desde luego– de gusto personal.

We stayed here three nights, the rooms were very clean. The staff were friendly, the concierge spoke very good English and was helpful. The rooftop patio had an amazing view of Florence. They serve breakfast every morning. We would stay here again.

This was a pretty slick hotel in the middle of the city at a decent price point. Came here for a bachelorette party weekend. The hotel entrance is a blink and miss but the lobby has a nice understated beauty with marble floors and leather sofas. Rooms are clean and spare — two twin sized beds, big armoire, 20″ flat screen tv, mini fridge without the sensor (perfect for stashing surprise champagne), free wi-​fi, and a lovely Juliet balcony. The hotel turns off electricity when the key is turned in downstairs — so don’t pass it off to your room mate if they’re on their way out. Breakfast was a nice spread of juices, yogurt, pastries, and coffee. It wasn’t included in the guest fee, so we unknowingly partook the first morning we woke up there. There’s a gorgeous roof deck with a café, but it was closed for the season when we visited.

Pour un voyage à Florence à 2, on a choisi (grâce au site LastMinute), de loger à l’hôtel Grand Cavour.
Nous avons fait un super bon choix car nous né pouvions pas trouver mieux niveau emplacement. On était vraiment en plein cœur du Florence historique, à quelques pas du Duomo et des principaux musées de la ville. Nous n’avons jamais pris de transports en commun et avons pu visiter tous les lieux touristiques à pied (d’ailleurs c’est la meilleure chose à faire pour visiter cette somptueuse ville de Florence !)
L’établissement est très joli, abrité dans un ancien palais résidentiel. Notre chambre était très bien et franchement pour le prix que nous avons payé (250 euros par personne pour 4j/​3 nuits, avec buffet petit-​déj, vol A/​R compris), on a été très agréablement surpris.
Le service est impeccable, très chaleureux et prêt à répondre à toutes les demandes.
Le plus de cet hôtel est la magnifique vue que l’on a sur le dôme, grâce à la terrasse de l’hôtel !
Nous avons passé un super séjour dans la ville de Florence, en étant dans un hôtel génial, donc que de bons souvenirs de ce voyage !
