This was a restaurant we stumbled into after doing a daytrip in Fiesole. It is situated on this clifftop which provides a good view of Firenze. It was lunch, and so we ordered a first course to share, followed by two main dishes. We decided to take the Angus Beef Steak Tartare for a first course. That was amazing. It looked a little bit disconcerting, but otherwise, the taste was heavenly. I also took the pork stomach, which was amazing. It was definitely a good dining experience. I would definitely go back here again if I were in the area. If I were living in Firenze, I would seriously consider taking the bus to the hills in Fiesole only to dine here.

My wife and I went to Fiesole for a day trip from Florence, and what a delight. The city of Fiesole is a short bus ride from downtown Florence(about 20 min ride) and you step into a quiet, relaxed village with incredible views of Florence. We took a chance and stopped at Ristorante Aurora, on a whim, as the restaurant has a beautiful outdoor dining area with scented vines growing in the area that provide shade and cover, yet allowing the view to unfold without obstruction. Besides the view, the food is excellent. We enjoyed a glass each of Prosecco, while dining on Ravioli Nudi, Ribollita, Parmigiana, Boccunci Chinghi,. All dishes were quite nice. Including cappuccinos, the total bill was about 84 euro, so not cheap, but reasonable for the quality. A walk in Fiesole is a very pleasant experience. You can visit the Roman ruins, a short distance from the squre, and also stroll up to the Monestary, which has excellent views. The Monestary has a gift shop that raises money for beneficlal causes, with a collection of locally made gifts and food iterms. If you are more adventurous, you can walk the entire loop of the city and catch views of the surrounding villages. I would recommend a day in Fiesole to re-charge your soul after a few hectic days in Florence.
