We stayed at City Hotel just one night before our flight back to the States the following morning. There was a peculiar odor in the hotel — musty, perhaps like stale cigarettes. Our room was fine, but for the same price stay a few blocks away at Hotel Mario’s which has a bit more charm, larger rooms, and nicer service for the same price.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel City in Florence in May 2012 and would book a room with them again. Quiet hotel with helpful English speaking front desk staff. Out room wasn’t fancy but it was clean with a large modern bath. They have an elevator so no problem with suitcases. The location is a few blocks from the Duomo and their morning breakfast buffet was way above our expectations, with freshly baked bread, fresh fruit, along with other goodies. They gave us good recommendations on where to eat in Florence and what to avoid.
