One of the better trattorias I ate at while in Italy and I didn’t even get what is surely one of the better things on the menu. This place is off the beaten path for most tourists even though it is located directly along the portico route from the Bologna City Center up to Basilica Madonna di San Luca. I stopped in because they seemed to be having steady foot traffic in and knew that if I didn’t get lunch then I would sure as hell not get lunch when I made my way back down. The trattoria was full of locals and none of the servers spoke English — perfect. What most seemed to get was handmade pasta with sauce, but somehow I missed that on the menu during my perusal. Sad:(I went with pasta e fagioli, which is only available on Fridays. The soup was quite good and not very expensive. It was thick with a little less pasta then I would have preferred. The insalata mista(basically side salad) was large, but didn’t have many items in it other than your normal side salad stuff.
