This is our first visit to Bologna and we liked that the menu had a number of vegetarian items. The air conditioning was a nice added bonus. Unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. It is all a bit gimmicky with everything served as «polpette» or «balls», and our appetizer was panzanella– which were very dry and largely bread balls. My daughters tried the cheese polpette in tomato soup. This was literally just goat cheese rolled into balls, in a few tablespoons of ground tomato. The eggplant polpette were more successful and served with a yogurt dip. The cod polpette were kind of soggy and were ground up with a lot of raw onion– not our fave. The best thing was probably an enormous fresh salad full of different crispy greens. The white wine was delicious: we had a couple of glasses of the local sparkling white called pignoletto. This restaurant became very busy at about 9:30pm, and is clearly very popular among the locals: perhaps meat eaters would do better. For example, we noticed that the cold cuts were frequently ordered. I don’t think we would go back.
