La Capannaccia

This is a place to put on your agenda if you are going to be in the Arezzo (Tuscany) area!
This is a great local restaurant that the tour guides don’t talk about, but it is THE locals’ restaurant. Nothing classy, but nice, cozy and very enjoyable.
They have been around for decades and have had the same menu ever since they first opened in the 60s. They will not give you a paper menu, but don’t worry and trust what they serve you. I grew up eating here and have brought every tourist I know here. My suggestion is to get: antipasto (for everybody), tris di primi (4 people=2 servings is enough) and grigliata mista. It will be a lot of food but, hands down, the best Tuscan food you can experience!
Make sure to call in advance to make a reservation, the place is always packed. And if you are going in the summer, make sure you ask for a table outside because the view from the terrace is stunning.
