Forde’s Restaurant & Delicatessen

Lovely, little restaurant in Wexford that was highly recommended by our hotel’s front desk who called ahead and made reservations for us. We were glad she did, because we were seated quickly and watched as a few parties came in and had a short wait. It is not a big place, but it seemed as though the waitstaff did their best at seating everyone in a timely manner and our food and starters came out quickly!
My husband had a fish cake with salad as his starter and I chose the chicken with melon salad drizzled with strawberry vinaigrette. They were both equally delicious! For our main, we both chose the sole stuffed with crabmeat in a light crème sauce, served with what looked like egg rolls, but were actually mashed potato rolls! Crunchy outer casing stuffed with luscious mashed potatoes! What a concept! They were coupled with a nice serving of stir fry vegetables in a warm glazed vinaigrette… superb addition to our already lovely fish choice! We also shared a bottle of house white. Wonderful dinner experience while we were overnight in Wexford!
