I came here with a few friends to watch a football match(Ireland vs. Germany), and the bar wasn’t very crowded but there were 2 TVs which were easy to see. The menu was pretty basic; all fried stuff really, but they did have paninis, pizza and Caeser salad. The portions were big too, but to be honest the quality and taste of the food was not great. The service however was pretty good. The atmosphere and décor were mediocre at best. The décor was a huge jumble of random pieces like a Roman statue next to a Canadian Moose which actually became a topic of conversation for us However, I didn’t take much notice but my friends described this place as sketchy and full of weirdos so we ended up moving to a different place after the match. I wouldn’t want to come back here and there are many better and more lively bars in the area.

I’m probably doing Revolution a disservice here. Firstly, I’m a craft beer nut so this should be my king of place and perhaps I just went at the wrong time but for me, Saturday nights are an absolute no go. It’s essentially a nightclub with music so loud that my drink vibrates as if expecting a T-Rex to crash through the door any minute. The women dress like they belong on a street corner. Fair enough, eye candy but I went there expecting some great beer and could barely even see what they had due to the mas of people. Nor did I really want to stay. I did have a superb pint of Metalman’s Sahara and drank that faster than I normally would so I could leave. I left my wife and her friend there but even they couldn’t stomach it and left 20 minutes later. I suspect that this is much better as an afternoon bar but not on a Saturday night. I might give it another go next time I’m in Waterford and before the sun sets this time.

My husband and I serendipitously dropped by this spot on our one night in Waterford. Quite the gem. Cool microbrews, both Irish local and international… overall great beer selection. And very good service to boot. On an otherwise dreary evening in Waterford aka deadsville, this spot was our saving grace. In short, if you’re looking for a traditional Irish pub feel, you may be disappointed; but if you’re a beer connoisseur, this is definitely a worthy spot.

Let me just start by saying the staff here are really nice, friendly: very good at serving drinks and engaging us in some quality banter. It was a real treat being served so professionally. The cocktails were OK. The Cosmopolitan was nice enough. The Appletini just ok. But the food really let the place down for me. Here with a Hen Party, we had the specialised Hen Party menu. I went with the chilli beef wrap, which apart from the caramelised onions, sounded like a Mexican type dish. I was wrong, It wasn’t at all. It was so sweet, I couldn’t eat it. Reports of the beef burger and sizzling chicken however were all good. For the next course I decided to go for dessert instead of the cocktail as I was still hungry. But I ended up getting the worst option here too, the Strawberry Pavlova. Minimal amount of strawberries, whipped cream, nuts and caramel sauce could not make the pavlova part edible. The pancake with ice cream was good from all accounts too. I think I just lucked out with my choices, oh well.
