Rathview House is a lovely B&B operated by a gracious woman named Sharon. When we arrived we were shown to our very clean room and asked by Sharon if we would like some tea. Needing a pick me up, I said yes, and was surprised and delighted to find the she set up a small tea service for me in her parlor. There was a lite lemon cake along side my cup of tea, cream and sugar. I was touched by her generosity and thoughtfulness. There is a cat at Rathview House, which may pose a problem for people with allergies, so I just wanted to point that out. Since I love cats and I get very lonely for my cat when I travel(crazy cat lady alert) I was pretty happy to see the friendly and affectionate Mr Biggles. Sharon had many recommendations for sights to see, places to eat, and local shops to browse. The coffee service in the room was excellent, and I enjoyed the individually packaged oatmeal cookies included. Sharon also made sure that, even though we would be leaving at 4 in the morning, we would have a fresh breakfast on hand. She left a basket for us in our room with fresh fruit, a couple containers of yogurt, two bagels, and butter kept cool on an ice pack. The beds and pillows were comfortable and I got a fantastic night’s sleep. Definitely a positive experience for us.
