I had brekkie here a while back on a Saturday morning and thought it was pretty good but the egg was over cooked which is a big issue for me. They were packed, I was stuck for time. I said nothing. Black pudding was very tasty. My biggest issue with this place is how claustrophobic it feels when it’s full. I wasn’t comfortable whatsoever. Looking forward to coming back when it’s less busy however.

Tasty food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. They make their own gluten free bread which is delicious. There are a lot of places to have coffee and lunch in Stoneybatter these days. Slice is a clear winner in the face of some decent competition.

What a lovely little place to have brunch. I was over in Dublin visiting a friend and celebrating her sisters birthday. We headed here for brunch just before getting our flight home. The place is tiny so you might have to wait when it is busy. We arrived and had to wait 10 minutes to get a seat. Once seated we explained that we were in a bit of a rush as we had a flight to catch. The staff were helpful and friendly. I found the menu a little confusing but, it might have had something to a bit of a fuzzy head after affect from the night before. But the food was delicious. I ordered baked eggs, avocado and sausage. My friend ordered home made beans on toast and gave me some of her beans. All the food was really fresh and tasty. The orange juice was freshly squeezed. I’ll definitely be back next time I visit.

Slice is a cute local eatery. I had heard great things and was not disappointed after going for brunch. The food was delicious but unfortunately the portions are quite small for the price. My boyfriend had an iced coffee, again very tasty but came in a tiny tumbler glass. But definitely go and try it for yourself. Just a heads up, it can be really busy on the weekends too and you can’t make a booking.

Great coffee and cake!!! Brilliant varied menu but I stopped in for said coffee and cake. I chose a chocolate orange slice which was made with dark chocolate and utterly delicious. Their coffee is a blend made for them by 3FE. The guys there are v nice and friendly with a sprinkling of hipster(these days is that such a bad thing?!) Not a five because I found it kinda small and the tables are v close together. It seems kinda cramped if the tables are full! Like I say though great coffee and cake. I even bought some other cake to try at home. If you can get a table here it is worth the visit!

Popped in here for lunch recently as I got parking on the street almost outside the door in Manor Place, now that’s convenient! Very good choice for lunch, and mostly for less than a tenner, especially if you go for the sandwich or burger type. I had an open club chicken sandwich — on really tasty slice of bread — very ordinary you might say, but it was really delicious, obviously just freshly made for me and served with a very lightly dressed green salad and wee pot of homemade coleslaw. The chicken was lovely and moist as was the half boiled egg perfectly cooked, but the only grip I had was about the two streaky rashers served with it — they were cold — it would have been much nicer, in my view, to have perhaps a warm flavoured(maybe maple or smoked) back rasher instead. Sides of any kind were very tempting and very reasonable at around € 2.50 extra, especially the caesar chips which I would highly recommend! The whole place was buzzing with lunch timers, and the service was excellent and efficient in every way. The brunch menu looks truly amazing and I will have to try that next time. I also noticed that they do a take out service — quite a few people came in and took away their lunches all wrapped up and ready to eat! Good experience and certainly worth a return trip — for the brunch next time though.

Love this place! I keep coming back even though there are so many other places to try! The brunch is fab. Think I’ve tried every option on the brunch menu and I would have them all again. The spiced sausage scramble and the pancakes in particular. Favourite drink is the Hot Lemon and Ginger. Lunch is a selection of specials which never fail to impress. Tomato and green pepper salsa with goats cheese and crispy bacon… So good! The service can be a tad slow at times but that’s about the height of it. The deco is very cool and nice atmosphere. Just go!

I have been back a good few times since my first review, mainly cause it’s location is dead-handy and also cause I love their daily changing fresh juices. Since then, the mini-people hence noise situation that put me off at first, doesn’t seem to be ‘a situation’ any longer. Still loud above average at weekend brunch times, SLICE is now one of my favourites in the neighbourhood. All the staff is just lovely, there’s a nice vibe about the place, they serve 3FE coffee and lots of different cakes(some sugar and gluten-free options) and they have daily changing specials written on the back of their monster coffee machine. I just wished they opened a little longer.

Finally visited this place after rave reviews from my mates living in the ‘Batter. Admittedly, we came here for the Gaze festival evening menu rather than the usual brunch bill of fare. It was a 3 course set menu with a tapas board to kick things off. Absolutely gorgeous flavours and textures — golden crunch from the black pudding quail egg to tart creaminess of the goat’s cheese crostini. It went slightly downhill from there unfortunately. My main course was described as slow cooked beef brisket but turned out to be slightly bland pulled beef — not quite the meaty goodness I was hoping for. Dessert was mediocre; we enjoyed only 1 out of the 3 cakes(chocolate banoffee = yummy!) All in all, 4 stars for food but half star deducted for the staff throwing around the word«organic» like there’s no hipster tomorrow. We got it the first time round!

Had a lovely coffee and delish baked eggs here for lunch today. I was able to add a side salad and a side of avocado no hassle which is surprisingly unusual in Dublin these days. With regard to the menu, It’s not a whole lot different than lots of other offerings around Dublin but they do what they do well and all the food I saw coming out looked and smelled great. One star off for quite a small premises with lots of small tables but in fairness this seems to be the only way to make a café business work with Dublin’s crazy rents.

SLICEISAMAZING! Actually in love this place. Went for brunch and got the sausage scramble with ALL the sides. Topped with avocado and along with pepper and onions I was thoroughly filled and got a world class latte to boot. My girlfriend got the beans on toast and also got all the extras including a poached egg and bacon. We throughly enjoyed the meal and the sour dough toast we got served with our breakfast was delicious. The only issue I would have with slice is the tight quarters which have led us to have to wait outside for quite sometime however the food made up for the wait and the friendly staff and great atmosphere made the experience thoroughly enjoyable!

We came to slice for brunch — the place isn’t very large, so you may have to wait for a seat(or squeeze in). There’s lots of great food options @ slice, and they serve 3fe coffee! Portions were huge, and the food was lovely. I was feeling a bit under the weather, and the honey lemon ginger was perfect. It just made Slice that much cozier!

This is the best brunch in Dublin. I usually go for the beans on toast or full baked breakfast both equally delicious. Their own SLICE3FE blend of coffee is the best coffee I’ve had anywhere. The staff are great friendly and helpful.

Had breakie in slice this morning. The café is quite small, so when we arrived we had a little wait before we got a seat. Which is ok, just be aware. The staff were run off their feet. We were given our menus and it was about 10/15mins before they came over to take our orders. We ordered coffee & food. The coffee took quite a while to come. Which was quite annoying. Apart from the wait the food was extremely delicious. The beans and toast were the highlight fo shizzzz. God they were good. I will struggle not to order these when I’m back. We also had the carrot cake pancakes. The citrus curd, my oh MYYY! We were a bit dubious so we asked for it on the side. Ehhhh no need. It was so good I stated eating it straight from the ramekin. Spoonfuls of sweet, sour, lemony heaven. The vegi scramble was very gudd too. Nice hint of lemon on top. All and all great spot. I will defo b Bak, but not if I’m looking for a quick bite :)

Quirky and cramped with a liberal sprinkling of hipsters I felt quite claustrophobic here as it was v busy and tables close together. We just grabbed some cakes to take out. Not sure I would like to eat in given the close quarters. The cakes were delicious so top marks for that.

So happy to have a new local café on my doorstep. I have been here for a couple of brunches and the odd takeaway coffee. The brunch menu consists of the usual suspects; muesli, scrambled eggs, pancakes, beans on toast or the full breakfast. The quality of the food is very good and they deliver it with there own twist. Prices on the brunch menu are pretty reasonable at between € 5 to € 10 per dish. I love how they have decorated the café, it looks great and has a really cool vibe about it. They do an evening menu from Thursday to Saturday(which can be ordered to takeaway) that sounds lovely, haven’t managed to sample it yet!

Well isn’t this only bleedin deadly. Finally somewhere super cute super tasty and super bleedin funky and super bleedin comfy in the Batter. So yeah, Slice is a new piece of the Cake Café in Portobello. It’s a chip of the old block with similar branding and light and airy feel. Painted nice n white with bright colours and lovely little jars of flowers on each table. We came for brunch, and the place was jammers, as it seems to consistently be. We found a couple of chairs after not too much effort, and settled in for some eats. My friend had the baked breakfast — beans, eggs, rashers, I had the sausage with scrambled eggs, toast and avocado & chives. It was HUGE and really good. They sell a small range of nice teas as well — each time I’ve been here, I’ve gone for the ‘Everlasting Life’. Aside from the name, it’s a refreshing and light blend with a subtle sweetness, highly recommended. The staff are all very friendly and approachable, and the service was efficient and professional. One star off for having no wifi — surely all cafes these days should have wifi?
