I was staying in Smithfield and this was a convenient place to eat. I was glad I tried it. I was there for brunch and had the eggs benedict florentine that had spinach on the muffin and the eggs(2 eggs, 2 muffins) and hollandaise sauce. It was very tasty and I really enjoyed it. Then, as though that wasn’t enough(it definitely was), I just had to try the Bailey’s cheesecake. It came with pistachio ice cream and was quite wonderful. There is indoor and outdoor seating and you seat yourself. It can be pretty crowded. the seating includes a bar, high tables, regular tables, sofas, and booths. There are books around the inside for browsing or trading and an interesting collection. The downside is the service. It took awhile to get a menu and order. The food came out pretty quick after ordering but hard to get anyone’s attention for the check-ended up going up to the counter to pay.

The outdoor seating space is great when the weather is nice plus the place gets super busy when just the indoors is available. Good but not great food and nice selection of drinks including some hipster loving drink concoctions.

Great location and nice outdoor seating. The proximity to the lighthouse cinema is a definite plus here. Service was fast and efficient and we had a couple of excellent poitin cocktails. A little disappointing was the food — somewhat bland, I had a veggie burger and fries and the burger bun was really somewhat dry, the fries not much better(decent patty though). I would definitely come back for the cocktail and location but perhaps go for a different meal.

Spent a really nice evening with friends at oscars in Dublin. I ordered the cheese burger which was a huge piece of foodporn. My friends had the chicken burger, chicken wings and the gnocchi, everyone really enjoyed the food there.

Cool laid-back atmosphere for a quick afternoon coffee! Very convenient to our hotel-Maldron Hotel Smithfield. Did not get a chance to try any of their food.

Unfortunately was not very impressed with Oscar’s. I was left standing at the door beside what i assume was the manager and another waitress until I said hello to them first. I was then allowed to seat myself at a dirty table. Menu’s were dropped down eventually. Food took 30 minutes without explanation or apology. The food was OK, nothing amazing. Overall it is a very nice space and i think if they had had enough staff on that evening it would have ran smoother. I wouldnt rush back for food but it’s a nice place for a drink or a coffee(which is really nice)

I think I would like to go back and see if it can get another start. The beer selection wasn’t great and a few items were not available so went with my third choice. Standing waiting at a bar while staff play around with marking receipts and doing paperwork isn’t very customer focused. Seat yourself however a number of tables reserved, seating comfortable and well laid out. Staff were hit and miss. The food looked like decent pub food and I imagine they do some solid business from Jameson located nearby and post work /lunch.

Well color me impressed! Expectations were not high as Oscars was chosen after we could not get a table anywhere else. They have 6 kinds of gluten free beer, including one on tap which for a pint will only set you back € 5.70(330 ml will set you back up to € 8 for GF beer). I also had the bacon cheeseburger with GF bread which was really good. The service was spectacular and fast. I will be back here without a doubt!

Dropped into Oscar’s pre and post dinner, great drinks selection. I had the rioja which was very good. The staff were very friendly, we got seats and we were very very happy. Oscar’s caters for a 30ish crowd, it’s a nice break from the hipster bars in the city. They offer a larger choice of craft beer. The seats are very cool. You may find yourself settled into an old dentist chair sipping a lovely craft beer — happy days.

Went here just before I saw a film in the lighthouse in Smithfield, there drinks are very good! I ordered a strawberry daiquiri and it was Devine! There wine from Chile wasn’t too amazing but your not breaking the bank with their prices! Didn’t have food here but it looked delish from other tables! Only problem with the place was that the service was a bit slow and there was a horrible draft of cold air, I couldn’t take my jacket off for the whole evening!

Being close to the lighthouse cinema this was a perfect spot to enjoy a bite to eat and a drink before a movie. A modern bar/restaurant, oscars was spacious if not a little too dark for 5pm on an evening. Having grabbed a comfy table we ordered some food and drinks from the exciting looking menu and great selection of bottled beers, cocktails and wine. The waitress struggled a little with our order and has to come back to confirm our drinks order and sadly did not bring my meal as requested. I ordered the chicken fillet burger without bacon and unfortunately on arrival there was a few rogue slices of bacon in there. Not the end of the world… The burger itself was delicious. Tender, tasty with great sauce. The chips that came with the meal were really great also with hints of flavour and seasoning to make them stand out. Altogether nice food and I’ll go back again.

Jeder Zeit wieder

Oscars is a lovely bar located in the heart of Smithfield. There is a great atmosphere about the place and a massive selection of world drinks, craft beers and lots of selections of food. To be fair I’ve yet to try the food however the selection of drinks is amazing. Drinks I didn’t even know existed like elderflower kopperberg and cloudberry kopperberg(which I had to google because I had no idea what a cloudberry is) Along with this the atmosphere is excellent and if you’re heading to the lighthouse for a flick and you arrive early id advise you to pop in for a drink. Also the staff are very polite and nice! Having spoken to various members of the staff I’ve yet to have a rude encounter or see anyone have a customer service issue!

Have the fame of be good, however yesterday I ordered an fresh squeezed orange juice and(alter confirmation that the juica was fresh and squeezed) I received a can and artificial juice. So…what I can tell about this place:“a rip off for what they served with a not that good service“ Don’t worth the visit!

Oscars is a great spot for pre or post cinema drinks, and like other reviewers mention, the choice of seats and unusual furnishings lend a nice vibe to the place. The other half and I visited this morning to check out their breakfast options. Not overly busy, we had a choice of a couple of seats immediately. He had the Full Irish, I had Eggs Florentine and a coffee. The breakfast items are good value, the staff and music unobtrusive, and water comes by the pint. My verdict? Good for a hungover brunch, but if you’re in D7 for fancy eggs, there are far superior options, even if you do have to wait for a table and pay a bit more.

Probably one of the best bar food places you can find on the north side. Great beer menu and plenty of cider too. The fish and chip’s is presented very well.

Will definitely be returning to Oscars! I’d been there twice for lunch but this was my first time there for an evening meal and I absolutely loved it. It was very busy and we were afraid it would be too loud to chat but the waiter sat us in a little booth so we were nicely tucked away. The chicken burger was amazing, the chicken was so fresh succulent. Big chunky chips were also A1. The staff were super friendly, the service was fast and the chocolate fondant, to top it all off, was delicious!

From the outside, it looks like it has the personality of a chain-hotel bar. Walk inside, however, and it’s actually a really funky bar with an eclectic retro feel, including a piano I’ve never seen anyone play. They also have a heated outdoor patio with blankets which is perfect for those crisp autumn evenings. The beers on tap are mostly your average macrobrews, but there are some decent bottled options. I’ve been here for dinner and brunch, and am mixed about how I feel about this place. We ordered the goat’s cheese salad, which came with an entire wheel of cheese(not complaining, but they definitely could have thrown in a few more leaves to round out the dish); the bacon cheese burger, which has a double patty; and the mussels with chunky rosemary fries. Everything was good! Downfalls: the service could use some polishing. We struggled to flag anyone down to ask for menus, order drinks, order food, etc. We also ordered an extra side of chips but it took so long arriving we were almost finished our meals, so just ended up cancelling it. We never saw the fries, they removed it from the bill, but no apology or explanation was offered. This was on a weekday evening when it was not that busy. The location is really convenient and I like it enough to go again for a quick weeknight bite.
